Description: Hi guys, I recently bought the sansui au 7500 amp and now looking to get the matching tuner. Must be working properly and be in good visual order. Located in Australia so postage could be a deal breaker pending on where you are and postage option, however, in saying that, I recently had a Au-919 shipped from the states at a decent rate.. however, I had a similar weight amp on the go from Canada, and that proved to be 3 times as expensive as from across the border so, again, pending on where you are, postage could be a dealbreaker... Description: I am looking for the actual plastic plate that mounts in the back of the cab. Anyone have a dead 5? Somehow mine got melted (bought it that way). The seller thought a heat gun to try and remove it (why?), I thought too close to fire place. I know its a long shot to find a junk formula 5 but this seems to be a good place to start.

Description: I have an Akai AT-2200 tuner and it worked great for years, but a few months ago it stopped working. I checked for fuses, loose wires etc, but I'm no electrician so I could not figure it out. The cabinet, dials, lights, and everything else is in great shape, but it gets no power when plugged in or turned on. Since it would be a shame to throw this away when someone out there is bound to have one that needs a knob or dial or something, I am offering it in exchange for Karma. Here's the deal. I will send it to you for FREE if you pay the shipping and agree to post something of yours, working or not that someone else might want for free. Please do not take it, fix it and re-sell it (unless you donate the proceeds to a homeless shelter or something) as you will find some bad Karma for profiting on the good will of others. I'm 99% sure it's the transformer as I checked the cord, bypassed the power switch, and got 120V at the fuse before going to the transformer, but nothing coming out of the transformer. If you replace the transformer, you can re-connect the power switch and have a great little tuner. Mint condition,very rare top end tuner. this has been gone thru by famed technician Rick Rupert (recommended by The Tuner Information Center),aligned and all critical caps have been replaced,there has also been a 75 ohm coax antenna connector added ..Look what has been said about this unit-which retailed for $2000.00 in 1977!! This by the way is one of the later more sought after "Draco" units mentioned in the write up. The unit has had the battery leak problem solved-it now has a user replaceable nicad battery for the memory. All the ceramic filters (5) are also present on this unit... THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN ONE OF THE FINEST TUNER MADE FOR A FRACTION OF THE COST OF SOME OF THE OTHERS ON THE SHORT LIST OF "THE BEST". The FM-only Micro/CPU 100 was designed by Larry Schotz of noise reduction circuit fame and manufactured for Sherwood by Draco Laboratories, which also apparently sold it for awhile under their own name after a falling-out with Sherwood. Under either name, "the world's first computer controlled tuner" is a unique, powerful 30-pound beast with excellent sensitivity and very good quieting on weak stereo signals. The Micro/CPU 100 has the equivalent of 6 gangs with an analog-style tuning knob and digital LED frequency readout, similar to the McIntosh MR 80, and 4 station presets. Hidden behind a front-panel door are switches for deemphasis and the two IF bandwidth settings, among other things, and variable muting and output level knobs. The Micro/CPU 100 is programmable to automatically display station call letters in an alphanumeric readout for each frequency. The circuit board has slots for 5 ceramic filters. Alternate channel selectivity is good, and the overall sound of the tuner is well above average for a digital tuner,Stereo Review's breathless review of the tuner may have been the source of Sherwood's claim that this behemoth was "routinely viewed as the WORLD'S Finest Tuner" [EF] Our contributor Jay offers this background info: "Sherwood and Draco never published manuals, but there are some board diagrams in circulation which were the originals from Sherwood or Draco. You can try Rick at Allegro Sounds and there is another guy in Chicago - can't think of his name right now, but he's a Sherwood authorized repair center. Both claim to have them. At one point I thought I had convinced the Chicago guy to allow a preferred audio repair guy to get copies of boards as needed, but then he balked. The following was reported to me by a former Draco tech, John Friese (sp?), who maintained a repair shop in the Santa Barbara, California area, and was an authorized Sherwood/Draco repair facility. John has since retired and could never locate his copies of the board diagrams after he sold the business. John always claimed that the Better VERSIONS OF THIS UNIT WERE THE BEST SOUNDING TUNERS HE HAD EVER HEARD,EVEN PREFERRING THEM TO HIS Marantz 10 and 20Bs. Sherwood and Draco had business issues and, as part of the settlement, Draco got the tuners and technology. John and a partner (Dick Glydewell (sp?)) bought out the leftover stock of parts, supplies and units, after Draco sold off what they wanted (having dropped the price from $2,000 to $1,000) and these guys were the licensed repair facility for Draco. There were three iterations of the design. The first iteration of the units had the name 'Sherwood' on it. The two later iterations were Draco and you can almost see where the 'Sherwood' name was simply brushed out. Per John, the Sherwood version was problematic, particularly with some of the boards. He certainly knew from memory where everything was on the inside of these units. At one time I had three of these and he could tell me pretty much the location and color of most of the bigger 'cans' and boards, etc. LATER VERSIONS WERE SUPERIOR and less problematic. I have found that to be true. The two later versions, per John, were similar in quality and sound, and certainly more problem-free except for battery leakage issues. THIS IS ONE OF THE FINEST SOUNDING TUNERS I HAVE EVER HEARD,GREAT LOW END AND FANTASTIC IMAGING.. "PAYPAL ONLY"

They are absolutely brilliant sounding; original price was $6800.00 per pair. I am only selling them due to being in the "sober living" circuit, and must downsize my setup to something more appropriate to circumstances. I will own large ADAMs again, someday, I promise. If you are not familiar with ADAM monitors, browse the internet for a while. I am pleased at having been at the head of the trend! There are some very minor cabinet nicks and the paint has crinkled a touch along some seams, only a problem when viewed close-up. Includes floor-isolating pins. They are in the east San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California, and must be picked up there as I do not have the proper boxes for shipping. I will accept paypal or cash.
