Fresh lamps, tuner alignment and switch/control cleaning. Good to go. A very sweet, ~40 watt per channel piece of classic 70's gear with a great phono section. shrinkboy Sat, 19 Apr 2008 09:54:15 -0400 one of a kind, upgraded pioneer sx-780 http://www.audiokarma.org/ads/showproduct.php/product/4412

by: shrinkboy

Description: I acquired this item in 2003 not working, and subsequently sent it to AK's solid state genius, Glenn McDonald, better known as EchoWars. Glenn repaired and improved the faulty soft start relay, upgraded various resistors and caps, and re-worked the phono section to perfection. He also cleaned, and aligned the tuner, Deoxited all switches and controls, dissasembled the front of the unit and polished the dial glass and all the knobs. The receiver is now better than the day it left assembly. His testing revealed 53 watts per channel before clipping at 8 ohms, much better than the factory estimated 45 watts. The asking price for the machine reflects a number close to what i have in it. I am selling because I simply no longer use receivers. The sale will include a copy of the service manual with Glenn's schematic of his mods and upgrades as well. I believe that if you are into receivers, you will be quite happy with this one. shrinkboy Sat, 19 Apr 2008 09:46:08 -0400
