MB-2 (MB2) Mid-Bass Section (1202N 12" BW driver, probably 250hz ) The Peavey 1202N basket does not have the inverted dustcap. MB2's had 2 bad feet, so I replaced all 8 with brand new ones: 260-770 - Penn-Elcom F1686 Rubber Cabinet Foot. FH-1 (FH1) "Compact, High-Level Folded-Horn Low Frequency System" Bass Bins w/Black Widow BW 1504-4's, one of which has a small fix (speaker lead from basket/cone resoldered to the spring terminal) I'd call them 'good' condition, especially with all four front nameplates intact. Expect however the typical scratches/dings etc. for a 25 yo hornloaded PA setup. Higher res pics and Peavey spec sheets available on request. Detailed pics available via multiple *.zip download. (20+mb at present). Request if interested. All drivers look great and are functioning. Pots on the E100's could stand to be cleaned. --- SB-E100 specs --- Transcribed from manual: Type: 3-way 3-speaker system Speakers: Woofer: 30cm, cone type Midrange: horn type Tweeter: horn type Impedance: 8 ohms Power Handling Capacity: 150 watts, music 100 watts, DIN Output Sound Pressure Level: 95 dB/W (1.0 m) Crossover Frequency: 1,500 Hz, 6,500 Hz Frequency Range: 37 ~ 22,000 Hz (-10 dB) Dimensions 52,5(W)x84,6(H)x42,4(D)cm Weight: 29.0 kg Translation: 12" Woofer ~64 lbs (international avoirdupois pound) (W) 20.7" (H) 33.3" (D) 16.7" ** Note that the E100 manual contradicts the impedance rating shown on the actual speaker's spec badge (8 vs 6). Issues/full disclosure: The 'see:' references are to images within the detailled picture collection. --- SB-E100's -------------- Grilles: 1 grille has 2" or so impact type damage on the interior 'screen' (perforated plastic screen which the cloth is stretched against to form the bay shape.) See: SB-E100_B_023.JPG 1 grille has damage to 2 'spars' of the 3 center spars. See: SB-E100_A_029.JPG SB-E100_A_029.JPG This does not affect performance or appearance on the outside, nor the stability of the overall frame or mounting. All grilles mount with satisfying 'plip' of the rubber cup mount styles. I would put a piece of tape on each spar only to prevent someone from getting splinters. When received, the same E100 MID did not function. I removed the Full Range/Tri-amp plug to test the mid directly (low power) and it worked. I reseated the plug in the Full Range setting and it has worked since. Same E100 seems to have had 1/8th to 1/4" wide repair on the top edge of the bottom wooden bay. Noticed only upon taking photos for the sale, due to color difference (cabinets are reddish, repair is more chocolate brownish). Not noticeable from more than a foot or two away, and then only if you know what to look for. See: SB-E100_A_017.JPG Both E100's have chipping around the full range connectors. The connectors have a thin raised lip around them that becomes damaged in these designs. Not particularly noticeable, does not affect mounting of the speaker wires per se. For example, see: SB-E100_B_017.JPG SB-E100_B_018.JPG Both E100's have minor chips etc. in the veneer as expected for 30yo speakers. Detailed pics are very representative. I tried to capture every flaw. Shipping? Someone had asked whether the horns can be removed from the E100's for shipping purposes. I suspect so. Would attempt upon commitment. Can of course box intact/sans feet. Also of interest may be my SB-6000a's. (very nice cabinets... my best pair). Pickup near Philadelphia, near the confluence of I-476 and I-95. Drop-off considered, send location for assessment. thanks for looking! Though I have not yet detailled every single flaw in this set, pics should be representative. (Also available, (2) SB-E100's, (2) SB-L300's, (2) SB-6000a's) Moving on to bigger and uglier things and need the space from whatever sells first. Great imaging, that's why I loved these. Take advantage of getting 4 (or 6), (or more) Vintage Technics speakers in one trip! Ideally I'd keep them intact for this reason, but will consider parting these out if they don't sell intact. Let me know questions/offers. Description: Generally fair and intact condition. All 4 good ones are functional. Some small imperfections to some surrounds. (ask for detailed pics) I say 'fair' as they have chips, dings and marks as you might expect from 30yo speakers. e.g. they are not mint. That said, they are the best examples I have come across to date. I have not swapped parts amongst them. They are as obtained. Detailed *.jpg pics available for download as 23mb zip file. You get: 4 good ones (shown, described). Could use a light cleaning. (if interested) 2 beaters (not shown, non-original or no woofers in them, beat cabinets, ...don't expect much... worth it for the crossovers and odd hardware piece. I suspect you could rebuild the xovers from one of the good sets, and swap in the beater xover while doing so). Beaters are likely particularly dusty from time in remote storage. From left to right in the pics below I am denoting them: A-B-C-D (reflected in the names of the detailed pics). A B are a pair denoted by: Mid/woofer cones are more amber colored, all have reinforcement ridges. Surrounds on woofers are stiffer. No top-mount fuse holder The best cabinets of the set B has a 1/4" puncture in the mid surround. Does not seem to affect operation. C D are a pair: Mid/woofer cones are more grey colored. Woofer surrounds are more supple. Mids do not have reinforcement ridges. Top-mount fuse holders Cabinets are in worse shape, particularly the riser corners. C's woofer surround has a tear. Easilly glued to prevent spreading, but does not seem to be going anywhere. C encountered some (white, latex we assume) paint spray (speckling) on it's top lower right front at some point in it's life. D encountered similar, but mostly as a mark on one of the sides. Grilles: You get a total of 12 grilles. All are a little dusty/could use a cleaning/spray off. 4 bottoms in ok condition (not perfect and need cleaning) 4 bottoms in poor condition (2 graffitied and 2 poorly recovered) 4 tops (2 with original fabric which could stand to be replace, 2 poorly recovered) Some of the grilles have structural flaws (e.g. the tops might have a missing wood spacer or rubber footy). Ask for the detailed pics to investigate. . Trades or cash trades for hi-fi/turntables/PA horns etc considered. Particularly PA/compression horns/drivers/speakers/components etc. from JBL/Altec/Klipsch/Frazier/EAW/B-52/Electro-Voice/EV etc. Perhaps electronic crossovers. Possibly interested in folded horn subs/bins. Looking for functional/intact, not pretty per se. Pickup near Philadelphia, near the confluence of I-476 and I-95. Drop-off considered, send location for assessment. (Edit) * Forgot to mention, I also have at least 1 if not 2 (perhaps one in French?) copies of the manual for these that will be included.
