Description:
|
I have a set of DCM Time Windows that were purchased new for $700 in early 1980. I have the original sales brochure/manual and other related informational paperwork that came with the speakers (shown in the third picture). The speakers are in consecutive number order so they rolled off the assembly line together and have been lightly used over the last 28 years (only being played a few times each year since headphones were used most of the time).
The wood caps (top and bottom) are in great shape and do not have any noticeable dents, scratches, or chips (I give them a 8.5 out of 10). The dark parts of the wood are a little dirty and could use a good cleaning (this is shown in the last picture).
The speakers themselves sound great and are in perfect operational condition. About a year ago, the aged foam that covered the front of these speakers deteriorated so far that I was forced to replace it (this is a BIG problem with these speakers) with Black grill cloth from PartsExpress http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=261-800
The grill cloth looks great and you can only tell that it is not original if you get up close and look at the few rough edges in the back from cutting it with a pair of scissors. These speakers will be great for someone looking for nice sound for their vintage or beginning system. They have great response and look nice.
I am only selling them since I recently lost my job and my apartment...I need some money and have moved into a smaller place and do not have space for a big stereo setup or floor-standing speakers (need to pick up some bookshelf speakers).
Contact me with any questions which you may have. If someone has a set of Glenmonitor speakers or Baby Advents, I would be interested in a partial trade/cash deal for the DCMs.
*If you are local in the NY area, please feel free to let me know so you can come and check them out and save shipping (which I believe will be pretty substantial given the size and weight of the speakers.
