Description:

(2) Vintage Technics SB-E100 (tri-ampable)
(Smaller SB-L300's shown in pics have been sold)
$375
E100 manuals (2 copies) both have French and English, slightly dirty covers, but surely usable.
Detailed pics available via multiple *.zip download. (20+mb at present). Request if interested.
All drivers look great and are functioning.
Pots on the E100's could stand to be cleaned.

Issues/full disclosure:
The 'see:' references are to images within the detailled picture collection.
--- SB-E100's --------------
Grilles:
1 grille has 2" or so impact type damage on the interior 'screen' (perforated plastic screen which the cloth is stretched against to form the bay shape.)
See: SB-E100_B_023.JPG
1 grille has damage to 2 'spars' of the 3 center spars.
See:
SB-E100_A_029.JPG
SB-E100_A_029.JPG
This does not affect performance or appearance on the outside, nor the stability of the overall frame or mounting. All grilles mount with satisfying 'plip' of the rubber cup mount styles. I would put a piece of tape on each spar only to prevent someone from getting splinters.
When received, the same E100 MID did not function.
I removed the Full Range/Tri-amp plug to test the mid directly (low power) and it worked. I reseated the plug in the Full Range setting and it has worked since.
Same E100 seems to have had 1/8th to 1/4" wide repair on the top edge of the bottom wooden bay. Noticed only upon taking photos for the sale, due to color difference (cabinets are reddish, repair is more chocolate brownish). Not noticeable from more than a foot or two away, and then only if you know what to look for.
See: SB-E100_A_017.JPG
Both E100's have chipping around the full range connectors. The connectors have a thin raised lip around them that becomes damaged in these designs. Not particularly noticeable, does not affect mounting of the speaker wires per se.
For example, see:
SB-E100_B_017.JPG
SB-E100_B_018.JPG
Both E100's have minor chips etc. in the veneer as expected for 30yo speakers. Detailed pics are very representative. I tried to capture every flaw.
Shipping?
Someone had asked whether the horns can be removed from the E100's for shipping purposes.
I suspect so. Would attempt upon commitment. Can of course box intact/sans feet.
Also of interest may be my SB-6000a's.
(very nice cabinets... my best pair).
Pickup near Philadelphia, near the confluence of I-476 and I-95.
Drop-off considered, send location for assessment.
thanks for looking!
IMPORTANT NOTE: bellsouth.net and/or Verizon Online customers (e.g. your email ends with '@verizon.net' or '@bellsouth...' must use alternate email or send me your ph#. Replies will be denied by verizon's (and now bellsouth's) ridiculous spam filters. Do complain to them if you wonder why no one is responding to your emails!
You may want to reply to this or PM me instead.
