Has anyone here ever sent their vintage McIntosh back to the factory for service?

I have a mc-2105, c-28 and mr-74 that I would like to have "tuned-up" and cleaned. I beleive in preventative maintenance and recently have been having some intermittent trouble with the left channel of the c-28.

I was not impressed with the factory authorized service center in my area and think it would be neat to send they guys back home for some TLC.

Any comments?

I sent my C-28 back. Wonderful experience, the tech called me and answered all my questions and concerns. Followed up our conversation with a email.

I also sent my C-24 to Audio Classics, same experience.

Its amazing that there are peopl (and companies) out there that truly care about your equipment, even if its 30-40 years old.

Just to let you know, both "Tune-ups" cost about $350.
