There should be no special requirements to match a CD player to any amp or receiver.... any CD player you prefer is perfectly fine.

As for connections, you can utilize any of the inputs on the Sansui except for the phono input. Most folks use the AUX input if it is available, but the TAPE inputs will work just as well.

Ditto: If the CD player has a volume control keep it less than 1/2 high or you will get distortion from the CD player. I usually set the volume on the CD player if it has one, so that with the Sansui set a 9 oclock the volume from the CD player and the FM are about equal.

I'm using Denon 560 with my 890DB - nice combo. Full bodied.
