I just discovered this band through my brother. I have been listening to the album Black Holes and Revelations lately. To me their music resembles U2 crossed with Radiohead with a little progressive rock thrown in. Then sprinkle that with a little electronic groove. It's almost operatic at times, and they can really rock.

If you haven't heard them, and are a fan of any of the above check out a couple of tracks. :thmbsp: Oh yeah, watch out for your tweeters. ;)

Began listening when I heard "Knights of Cydonia" on the radio.
The hook really did nail me.
Since last summer I've picked up a couple of video's on torrents and recorded a few live shows on torrents.
Knocked me out the first time I heard "Starlight" and "Time is Running Out".

I really like them. They make me think of Queen, in some ways.

The front man has a voice with a range and strength like Freddy.

Hard to believe they've been around for almost 8 years and I never heard of them until last year.

I thought Absolution was a very good album. I was less enamored with Origin Of Symmetry though. I'll have to check out the new album.

As an album, I ended up liking Black Holes & Revelations better than Absolution, which was my favourite up until that point.

I LOVE Absolution. Everything else from them I can take or leave.

I heard them while I was over in Switzerland in 2001. Enjoyed Origin Of Symmetry, looked backwards to Showbiz and preferred it. Then Absolution came out, and that's my favourite. Black Holes is pretty good, but Absolution is just so solid in concept and continuity of musical theme.

They've always seemed to be, to me, what Radiohead would have been had they continued heading down the Pablo Honey -> The Bends progressions without that big left turn towards OK Computer and the route that has led them to.

Which works out great, because both bands are a lot of fun.
