i have a chance to grab a NICE pair of these for 75 dollars? worth it? sound good? i have no stinkin' clue.

what do you guys think?

Retailed for $260/pair in late 80's. I'd suggest a score at $25, but not $75.
I had Monitor 4.6's - kind of anemic when you're used to larger speakers.

Nice little speakers, but more than I'd drop for them.

I bought a set of 4's which look to be very much like these and did not like them at all. I agree that $75 is too much for them. I have bought large Advents for less.

The 4.5 is a bit bigger than the 4. . .A very nice bookshelf speaker especially if you have a sub. . .Depending on the size of your room and your music they might stand on their own. . .

75 bucks is a fair price if in top condition, no bargain but fair.

I use 2 Monitor 4s for my center channel. . .They sound better than the others I have used. They also work well alone in my 9x9 office/computer room where I listen 'near field'. . .

I think I would use them as rears or along with bigger speakers. . .
