Here's a very nice looking receiver...OK, it's better than 'very nice'. It's bloody beautiful. :)
The SX-1050 is the successor to the SX-1010 in many ways...an excellent tuner section that resembles that of the 1010, similar output power (120W on the 1050 vs 110W on the 1010), and the only thing that kept the 1050 from being recognized as the great piece of gear that it is, was the shadow cast by the TOTL SX-1250 which was Pioneer's no-holds-barred-massacre-the-competition entry for this lineup.
The 1050 uses a toroidal tranformer, like the 1250, and has two 22,000µf 80V caps. Like the 1250, the 1050 also uses a soft-start relay and power resistor to limit surge current at power up. Unlike the SX-1010, the SX-1050 has a vertically mounted regulator board that has none of the cooling problems that the earlier 1010 had.
Functionally, the receiver is perfect. Offset and bias are dead-on, and the protection circuit has been rebuilt with new caps and a new output relay (this circuit can be a source of trouble, so I'm making sure that the buyer does not have to deal with piddling issues that might cause problems down the road). All switches and pots have been thoroughly cleaned, and the receiver has been cleaned and polished inside and out (I should have taken a pic of the inside, as it is beautiful, but I'll let the owner pop it open and admire it :) )
I measured clipping at 149WPC, and at the rated 120WPC, THD+N measured 0.001%.
The wood case is close to perfect, and the front face of the unit is very, very good. Only a small scratch from stacking on the top horizontal section of the faceplate and a small ding on the top edge above the word 'Model' prevent me from calling the unit perfect. I'd rate overall cosmetics at a 9.3/10, and I'm picky.

(sorry...forgot to brush the dust off of the antenna :stupid: )
Price = $350, plus packing and shipping. If you are interested and going to the Fest, we may be able to work it out for you to pick it up in person.
This is part of Retro Stereo's personal collection...there will be others as time allows me to get to them.
