Lefty 10-07-2003, 09:02 AM Well as a SF giant fan I am still bummed out. But I think a Cubs / Sox world series would be so cool because.......... ONE OF THEM HAS TO LOSE :D Lefty ProAc_Fan 10-07-2003, 09:33 AM Even though I hate the Yankees they will beat those Chowdah heads from Beantown AGAIN !!! :p: Mike CarlV 10-07-2003, 10:24 AM Agreed!! Only the A's could have beat the Yanks. I think the W.S. will stink if America's favorite underdogs aren't in it. Carl Fisherdude 10-07-2003, 12:00 PM Cubs vs Red Sox!!! Think of the history!! Think of the anguish and despair of the Yankees and the entire rest of the National League! Cubs in six!!! You read it here first!! Clay BeatleFred 10-17-2003, 12:05 AM Ive been watching the 7th game, Yanks vs Sox, into extra innings now, its soooo intense, C'mon Yankees!!!! BeatleFred 10-17-2003, 12:14 AM YANKEES WIN!!!! WO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! boostcrazy 10-17-2003, 12:23 AM why did grady little leave pedro in!!! he was spent! please not the fing yankees im so sick of them in it every frekin year. BeatleFred 10-17-2003, 12:59 AM Well, I think 'ya have to tip your hat to the Sox, they really played tough. But the Yanks, well, they just never give up, they just symbolize all the Great things about Baseball. I feel for the Sox->but, writing the World Series on their home turf grass was a bit premature :) B/F MikE 10-17-2003, 01:46 AM MikE JoZmo 10-17-2003, 05:46 AM Ya, I'm pulling for the Marlins. American League, National League, I don't care! If it's the Yankees against anyone else... then I'm pulling anyone else. As far as Grady goes, not five minutes after it was over and already people on talk shows around here were already asking for his head! Ya, I think he should have pulled Pedro sooner :headscrat , but the Sox also squandered many chances when they could have put the nail in the coffin, and didn't. Congrats to the Yankees. It looks like Joe Torre has a job for another year anyway. There were rumors around here that if the Yanks didn't make to the WS that Joe may be headed to Boston next year, Now I wouldn't have minded that. So much for a Sox Cubbies World Series. Go Patriots!!!! THOR 10-17-2003, 07:45 AM Good job Gray Little why bother using the bullpen that has been so effective in the post season leave Pedro in :( At least the Yankees were smart enuff to pull Clemens after he gave up four runs. ProAc_Fan 10-17-2003, 10:49 AM Agreed Thor. WTF was Stuart Little doing leaving Pedro in to face Matsui when Embrey was all set to face him. Matsui had already hit a double off Pedro and was easily the Yanks best hitter against Senor Pedro. It's the managers job to manage for the good of the team, not to stroke the ego of a star pitcher. 3 yrs ago, I'd have left Martinez in too but not the Martinez of 2003. Little should have been fired immediately. Curse of the Bambino?? MY ASS...It's just brain dead managing that cost the Sox. GO MARLINS :D ;) Mike BeatleFred 10-18-2003, 02:13 AM Regardless of whether its the Sox's brain-dead managing, what cost them the game is that Sox ALWAYS Choke, and The Yankees dont, thats the significant difference betwen the two teams. The Yanks can handle the pressure, the Sox inevitably collapse under it. You can argue all you'ze want to, but the fact of the matter is that while the Sox have a very strong team- strong enough to dispatch the A's, they just CANT put away The Yankees. Most any other team down 5-2 going into the 8th would roll over and play dead, and give it up as hopeless, but NOT the Yanks, their will to win is indomitable and they proved it yet again, and they won fair-and-square. And if you think they didnt win fair-and-square-, alrighty then, the Soz are cursed, Repeat: C-U-R-S-E-D :boink: Toasted Almond 10-19-2003, 10:59 AM I am a dyed in the wool BROOKLYN Dodger fan. I think the first thing I ever learned to hate as a child (aside from school, and doctors needles and stuff like that) was the New York Yankees. I would root for ANYBODY who is playing against the Yankees. That would include a team made up of Ted Bundy, Jack the Ripper, Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, Vlad the Impaler..... I think you get the idea. "Vlad, Vlad, he's our man, If he can't stick you, no one can!" Toasted Almond boostcrazy 10-19-2003, 11:07 AM fish 3 best team $175 million can buy 2. one down 3 to go:yippy: THOR 10-19-2003, 11:59 AM You know BF I think the Yankees felt that same way the whole time I remember early in the last game when the sox were up 4 or 5 runs and they showed the Yankees dugout and I saw guys laughing and joking around, they showed a close up of Torre and he was smailing and talking and laughing with the guy next to him. I think they always felt they could never lose to the Red Sox no matter what happened and that kind looseness and confidence can only make you better. Too bad Grady Little had to be a tard and ruin any chance we'll ever have of wiping the smiles off their face. And you know what? Now the next time they play for all the marbles the Yankees will only be more loose and relaxed and confident while the Sox will be even more of the opposite. |
