Two Ebayers have bid over $4000 for this unit. It's a nice unit -but I got mine in perfect condition last February for half that! WTF? LOL!

Remember, there are those out there who think because they paid more, it's somehow "better".

FWIW, didn't the 132 originally sell for about 5K?

Yes, but the HT preamps don't seem to hold their value as well as the stereo preamps because of rapidly changing technology. I bought mine for $2500 last year, and the normal going rate seems to be $2200-$2700. $5000 seems crazy to me - Audio Classics has an excellent condition MX-132 for sale for $3500.

That's what I'm seeing where I'm looking. Looks like Bidders Gone Wild. One bidder came in just before the end of the auction and more than doubled the high bid. It's just me, but I can think of better things to do with $4K (if I had it :D), like buy a REAL nice Tube Amp.

This one has some of the indicators of a scam auction so that would appear to be the reason for the over-the-top bids.
