Flew into Kalmar, Sweden yesterday afternoon. Here's a few quick shots of Kalmar Slott- the best preserved medieval /Renaissance castle in Sweden. It's across the street from the hotel I'm in.

Now, it's off to work...

gorgeous view

I would love to travel the world as you do, but probably not for the reasons that you do. Business would be the last thing on my mind after seeing beautiful parts of the world such as that.

All that business travel is really tough when you are subjected to scenery like that.

Thanks for sharing.

Toze, what's that white stuff on the ground? Anything a Floridian knows anything about? :D :D

Mighty fine pictures! :thmbsp:

Great pics, thanks for sharing. That castle looks forbidding and the water very cold.

I know it's "work-related" & all, but, damn, you sure do get to go to some Kewl-as-hell places...

Beautiful day there... where is Kalmar relative to Stockholm?

Southeast of Stockholm, on the Baltic coast. Even in winter, it's a very pretty place. A large island offshore that is supposed to be very neat to see- Iron Age fort ruins and stuff, but we won't be here long enough for a visit on this trip. This is one place I'd like to spend some time exploring, though. The Swedes are wonderfully gracious people, and they all speak English, some with a much greater facility than I do (which helps this poor, old American greatly). I have a few more pics form our walk yesterday, but I just got in from work, and it's BEER TIME right now.

There is snow around, alright, but I haven't stepped in much yet.

Seriously blue sky...good pics.

From Winter Soltice to the Spring Equinox, some of the most beautiful skies are in Scandinavia. The deep blue March sky in Helsinki, at night is just stunning.

Excellent photos 'toze!!
