Hello

Just joined the AudioKarma Forum. I hope to exchange some good info with other tube nuts going forward.

Some quick background, I am in to HH Scott tube equipment and others and have owned or owned recently:

LK-72B amp
LT-110 Tuner
LT-111 Tuner Compactron tubes
314 Mono FM tuner
Ampex Model 1250 stereo tube quarter track recorder
Fisher Allegro tube 20 watt X19 amp and matching A19 Multiplex tuner

With help from the HH Scott forum, I re-capped the LK-72B amp above and swapped out the selenium bridge with a diode bridge. My first real improvement attempt. I was a bit nervous but it worked out fine.

I have created two Wikipedia articles. One on HH Scott tube gear, and one named "The Fisher" on Fisher tube gear:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HH_Scott

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fisher

Members please feel free to add to these as I did not attempt to do it all but I felt Wikipedia should have entries on these great tube gear manufacturers.

I guess that's it for now.

Thanks

Welcome to AK!--just east of you about an hour on Rt 95. Nice Wiki-articles. My parents had (actually, still have) a late 1950s Fisher mono console with a Garrard internal TT...a mahogany cube on 4 legs. I think that it still works, but it is elsewhere and sees intermittent seasonal use.

Again, welcome!

Funny you should mention this Sandy--I had just finished showing a drawing of a tube amp to someone and they said, "...what are you fiddling around with this for, that's ancient technology...what good are tubes?!.."

Oh, oh...:D
