It was Portland CL score. To get an item from this seller, one has to wade through a number of automated email responses that he uses to weed out the peter pullers. Luckily for me, I just happened to have his home phone #.
So for $250 and an hour drive in each direction, I got to cart home an SX 1250.
It has some battle scars, nothing terrible. It works well, but really needs cleaned up and serviced. All of the controls are stiff to some extent, it is missing its feet and the balance shaft was pretty badly bent, but I have it nearly straight now. On the up side, all of the lights work, the amp runs cool, it sounds great without even working on it, and the tuner works like no 30 year old tuner should.
I'm lucky that I'm kind of a goof off, I was taking one of my frequent breaks from the mundane work at my bench, and decided to just go ahead check CL, for the heck of it.

make sure the 4 big power capacitors have been changed. they tend to leak over time.

Tony's a great guy. He finds some cool stuff sometimes. He doesn't hit you for the ebay prices and you can see exactly what you get. He won't take advantage of you, which is a plus. I had to sell my SX-1250 a few weeks ago. I hated to see it go, but no work for nine months sometimes hurts the pocketbook. I tripled my money, but it still hurt to see it go.:tears: Brad

Tony seems like a nice enough guy... I bought a pair of Pioneer CS-99A's from him a few years ago. He also sells lots of equipment with issues but he is up front about it. I placed an ad one time on CL that I was looking for Mach One's and he emailed me saying that he saw some at a thrift store in SW Portland. Sure enough they were there! I'm not sure the auto reply emails he does really helps him though, he was advertising some HPM-40's I wanted, and I could never actually reach him!

He could have put this one on ebay and gotten $400-$500, so I guess that says something.
