Any travel advice or road condition advisories from those of you in the Detroit area? We'll be coming from the east on 80, then up through Toledo - as I recall, last year there was a bridge out in Toledo - is that open now? And I think someone told me there was a highway closed near the hotel?

Directions I got from Mapquest are here (http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?do=nw&long=%2d80687868&2pn=Plaza%20Hotel&height=631&1y=US&r=f&2a=16400%20J%20L%20Hudson%20Dr&mo=ma&1si=gaz&2s=MI&2c=Southfield&dtype=s&1da=%2d1%2e000000&1rc=A5XAX&2ffi=1&1n=Centre%20County&cl=EN&width=910&2v=ADDRESS&lat=41623428&did=1174473996&2qn=Plaza%20Hotel&1gi=YJtN9pQ9RkOD%2bGMVgaSm0Q%3d%3d&qq=1ADqpk24ofDNVzbVnoWU7AZTRe0rdlhWeU7UyCd19Zubkvs TfVm8O1b17gdCufZaiLpLi28jOw754OCmK9hN9gxPKKeiUaQO% 252bp8tnBU1VjMuBOsHISCvaMNQtPzizw6QfDwKrHXQRjadEdl m%252fmIwJRvryoedAdAlcvwmTDzNDeJaKlQsJSg3Me76NEsjK 39shbFF1gcyDYIOGN5NhIImq%252fZwX9JJ%252fYElLuuOV2C cN5LLdWX0os%252bWSa0PfI7%252b2%252bR2Y1f6cJ7EUj90P ca2%252b2zPt5dr3QAZjNqL2j3jyqs4Zy36VOmYgyNeEMCWsMi luo6HG4snAPT%252bEmp3XADy6QEQm7he3A36jbO4P36R41b%2 52fAkc%253d&2y=US&un=m&2z=48075&1s=PA&1c=State%20College&zoom=3&2pl=248%2d552%2d8833&go=1&rsres=1&1v=CITY&ct=NA&1l=HtXUzyTiPwKL4wt35D1H/A==&1g=18KKJLpiExcavjC0M7uvrQ==&2l=KA/0Fv8Z0ZZ1ysJGpVyjDw==&2g=tI5YZD80mpySPnb13DcS3A==">Driving Directions from State College, PA to Plaza Hotel, 16400 J L Hudson Dr, Southfield, MI) - how do they look?

According to ODOT:

http://www.dot.state.oh.us/dist2/construction.htm

There is currently nothing planned for the bridge after wednesday this week, but you know how THAT goes.

Their map of the detour is here:

http://www.odotonline.org/detours/detour.asp?detNumber=395

I'm taking a copy just in case.

It's supposed to be a nice bridge, I hope to see/drive it this time.

Whoops, looking for a pic I found this:

Traffic Advisory

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NB I-280 Closures in Lucas County RESCHEDULED
Bowling Green: Ohio Department of Transportation Acting District Deputy Director Mike Ligibel today announced that the scheduled northbound closures of I-280 are rescheduled due to the unfavorable weather forecast for the original scheduled days of work. The new schedule for the I-280 northbound closure from the Summit Street exit ramp to the Greenbelt Parkway for overhead barrier wall construction on the Veterans' Glass City Skyway is below: - Wednesday, March 21 beginning at 7:00 pm until 6:00 am Thursday, March 22 - Thursday, March 22 beginning at 7:00 pm until 6:00 am Friday, March 23 - Friday, March 23 beginning at 7:00 pm until 6:00 am Saturday, March 24 Interstate traffic will be detoured via westbound SR 795 to northbound I-75. Detour signs will be posted for local traffic. The Summit Street exit ramp from I-280 northbound will be open to traffic. Guide signs and trail blazing signs will be in place to direct traffic to the city of Oregon. Law Enforcement Officers (LEO's) in North Toledo will continue to enforce the 6,000 lb weight restrictions through the residential areas. Veterans' Glass City Skyway bridge opening is currently scheduled for June, 2007 (weather permitting).

So I guess that means if we're "lucky" we'll be able to do the funky weave through the bridge abutments again! Fun driving? :scratch2:

The directions you linked to look exactly like mine (except I'm starting in Cleveland) and iirc are identical to the ones that I used last year.

See you there, Rich, I'm looking forward to meeting you again.

Thanks, Pete, I think we'll play it safe, skip 280, and go on to 75. See you in Southfield!
