When I was watching Lord of the Rings last Friday I started getting a terrible vibration from the woofer in my left cabinet. Saturday upon pulling the grill to put some glue on what I thought was a loose dust cover I discovered that the rubber surround had come loose from the cone about half way round.
Last year I bought some refoam kits with the "special glue" to build some passive radiators for my DIY speakers. The glue is white, water soluble and dried clear. Sound familier?
So I got out the Blue Gel special for school non running formula Elmer's and using a Q-tip I got the surround glued back on and left it till today to really give it a work out.
No problems, no air leaks, everything as should be.
I guess I will start refoaming some of the raw drivers I have laying around.

In cabinet making class our instructor said that two pieces of wood glued together with elmers glue was stronger than if the two pieces were of solid wood, to prove his point he tried to break some wood that was glued together and it broke along the wood and not where they were glued together.
