AK Problem?

Is anyone else having a problem with AK becoming unresponsive, or unavailable, several times a day? At first I thought is was probably my connection, but it seems to be happening from home and work. Everything will be clicking along just fine, then it just stops responding or becomes very sluggish for 10 - 15 minutes, and then everything is fine again.

I could get on with my bookmark this morning at 5:00AM EST, but it's fine now.

I don't know if this is related but, every morning between 5 and 6 A.M. I can not get to AK; I get page not found.

Every other site works fine. It literally takes me anywhere between 8 to 10 tries before I'm able to get on. Then, I can get to the home page and then it might take another half a dozen attempts to get to the forums or whatever.

I asked Wardsweb about this a long time ago and he seemed to think it might be related to a switch somewhere in my area that my ISP is going through.

Does anyone else have this problem. Like I said it only seems to happen in the early morning.

I have the exact same probs, between 5 and 6 in the A.M., and then intermittent sluggishness throughout the day. Glad it's not only me.

Seems the early morning response problem has returned.

No problems accessing AK for the past several months until a few days ago, when the same basic problem I experienced before started again. Access is very hit or miss, mostly miss, between 4:00am and 7:00am Central time. Anyone else having a problem?

I too, have had problems with AK, Earth & Sky and FARK. Just assumed it was an XP or ISP prob. :dunno:

Been having the same problems as y'all !

Was wondering is this when the server is backing itself up ? Between 5 & 6 ?

Haven't noticed any connectivity issues at all lately, regardless of time of day, or whether home or work.

Some of the early morning issues can be related to a mysql database backup which occurs daily around 7 AM EST or so. It slows the site down if there was an enormous amount of traffic the day before and a large volume of traffic in the morning.
