The AK Fest made the cover story in Detroit's Metro Times (alternative press) paper this week. Check it out....

http://metrotimes.com/editorial/story.asp?id=10362

Check out the links on the left side of the page... a 20 minute film (Greek Audiophile), and an interesting interview with Steve Hoffman (The Mastering Master).

BTW, this paper has reviews of local eateries and events - something to keep in mind for next year's event.

Great article, and Dave actually looks a bit grumpy in that shot!

Good article but they could have dropped the cheesy pic of Grumpy's step-daughter at the top. That just made it cartoonish.

Great read. Would have personally liked to see a little more mention of the Vintage stuff. Maybe a paragraph interview with someone that had a 70's major manufacturer rig. But for an article that could help the FEST I think it was great. It makes the reader want to get in the car and head right down there to see what this stuff looks/sounds like.

Dave if you haven't already you should score a copy of that article and get it framed.

Not as much for vintage this year Mark, but Retro had the Pioneer banner waving with his Specs and Elite going to AR-9's was a cool room indeed. You might need to bring the shrine out next year. :thmbsp: All I brought were Pioneer shirts from Titanfan.

A couple of the guys in Chat mentioned that to me after I posted this. That would explain why it was missing from the review.

As to dragging the Shrine some 2500 miles to the FEST I can only hope that I somehow win a lottery to make such a project possible LOL.

Cause unless I drive a U Haul van or My Pickup (approx. $1500.00 in fuel cost) I don't see any way to hump the Shrine to Detroit.
