I'm a Yankee fan but I'm not that fanatical where I have to watch all the games and so forth, so its not like its the end of the world for me that they lost the Series.

There's no shame in that the Marlins won. I think The Yankees have won it enough times themselves to have proven what a formidable team they are. I doubt very much the Marlins or any other team is going to win it 3 times in a row as The Yanks have done in recent times.

The Yankees are synonomous with Baseball tradition and History, so its really foolish for anyone to say much in the way of negative things about them. The Marlins deserve to celebrate for winning the Series, but I think they know better than to get too carried away with themselves that they feel they "blew away" the Yankees as the 2-0 score would indicate.

And if the Yankees did lose, well, I'm glad it was to the Marlins and not the Sox :)

The Yankees are synonomous with everything thats wrong with MLB. Until MLB gets a revenue sharing program (like the NFL) it will continue to flounder. Who the hell wants to watch a sport where the same teams ( the big market teams with huge payrolls) contend every year while the bottom feeders are done by July? I'm thrilled to see the Marlins win, if only to watch the faces of Steinbrenner and Torre and Zimmer. I can respect that Steinbrenner does everything in his power to put a winner on the field but he needs to realize that nobody will be watching if he has the only good team. Share some of the huge revenues from his market. Hell the radio revenue the Yankees take in are more than the TV revenue for the Montreal Expos.

Congrats to Josh Beckett and the World Champion Florida Marlins.

BF, a win is a win.

I'm sorry, but if the Red Sox can't win it then I'm going to be rooting for any other team but the Yankees to win. That's just the way it is being a Red Sox fan for 50 years.
Like I tell my kids, one reason why we hate the Yankees is because they're so good!
But then again, with a huge payroll like they have, they can go out and buy a team, and they do!

But BF, I'm like you. It's not the end of the world that the Sox didn't beat the Yanks; it's all in fun for me. Sports is an escape from the mundane where we can dream and get passionate and live vicariously for a few minutes through the athletes.

That's all.

I would rather watch paint dry than watch baseball, baseball makes golf on TV look exciting, and I am talking the seniors tour here.

They should play it like we did during gym back in high school, you get one pitch, either you hit it, strike out or walk, then next batter up. Gets things moving! They also have to do away with all the spitting and crotch grabbing it's like a cross between a Micheal Jackson video and a day down at the Bus station. Also play indian rubber style ala wiffleball, if you hit the runner with the ball he is out! Adds a nice dodgeball feel to the game. It's either that or landmines in the outfield cuz that game is BORING.

But if someones gotta play and someones gotta win then I say go Red Sox!
