Found this beauty at my local Sal Army and $20 could not pass it up:thmbsp:
Solid oak I believe took 2 of us to cart it in. Needless to say I am very happy with it:D

Nice!! Same for your Accuphase. I'm always looking for oak shelves. They are wide and strong enough to handle monster receivers.

I have been getting that Accuphase feeling lately, and after looking at that collection of yours I know what the only cure is!! Very nice Axcel.

Yes I have a 3 yr old and I am 6+ ft tall heights of the units was a major desire.:music: Don't think he or she won't find a way to get to those Accuphase knobs, they (especially the boys) are skillful climbers. As the father of two and grandfather of one I can testify to that. It's how I started out at age 3 -- standing on a chair, messing with my dad's Garrard turntable (1950s) which was about 4-5 feet from the floor. I still remember the spanking I got from mom.

Nice looking unit a couple comments from an old dad and new grandpa.

Tie that unit to the wall so it can not possibly tip either forward or back. A nice looking 1X2 or 3 attached to the top and to a shelf bracket on the wall will hold that upright should your kids decide that is a fancy ladder.

Second thing is I found with my son that a careful and repeated explaintion of the value and importance of something like your gear is the best way. As we as adults should no Prohibitions never work they tend to have exactly the opposite effect. So rather then forbidding your son to touch the stereo explain that he should always have mommy or daddy help him. Then allow him to turn the system on while you hold him up etc. Share your hobby with him and he will learn to respect it.

I did this with firearms, the power tools in my shop, my model airplanes, and the fancier items my wife collects. It worked very well but like with anything involving kids the earlier you start the better your success rate will be.

Thanks to all for the advice:thmbsp: He's 3 and loves the shiney knobs you can just his little mind at work but rather then :nono:all the time some involvement is in order:yes: r

You don't want to see the furniture the Sally here gets in. What a great score, the racks look nice and wide for bigass amps and receivers :thmbsp:

Really nice looking setup! If that was in my local SA they would have wanted $100 for it! Great score!

Very good score for that price; the raw wood alone is worth way more than what you paid, let alone a nice finished piece of furniture. Looks great in that wood-panelled room, too. Add to that being strong and stable enough to support that (wonderful - love Accuphase!) gear, and getting it up away from toddler fingers... just a great "win" for you there! Congratulations! :thmbsp:

I let my daughter use my gear, lot's of yogurt stains later she can still run any bit of vintage gear. It is a good move to allow it like Mark W said.

Nice rack (giggle) and nicer gear.
