I have quite a bit of Dakota's music. Most of the really great female jazz singers are gone. Ella, Sarah, Carmen McRae, Lady Day

I grew up listening to Dakota records. She belongs to my core of female singers: Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fritzgerald, Carmen McRae, Abbey Lincoln and Lorez Alexandria. May she REST IN PEACE.

The fact that only we(the above) posted on Dakota indicated that we are from another era. Our age is showing.

I'd prefer to think that our good taste is showing.

I have seen an awlful lot of posts here touting Ella and Sarah, a few about Lady Day, but none on Dakota. I dont of course see all the music posts.
