Hello all, I got an opportunity to see Ed shaughnessy and the tonight show allstars last night at East Tenn. State University. It was truly fantastic! I am a drummer and to get to see a living legend was truly special. The man is 78 years old and still play's superb! Not to mention his band 2 of the guy's playing sax and trombone played with him on the tonight show for 20 year's. and the bass player played with Buddy Rich for 20 years! I have come to the conclusion that although listening to jazz and big band at home is great, nothing compares to seeing and hearing it performed live! Just had to get that off my chest! I don't think my friend's or for that matter my wife really appreciate what I got to experience. If you like jazz or big band I would highly recomend trying to see these guy's. ::music: These legendary performers won't be around much longer, most are gone already sadly. Mike

The nights he and Buddy Rich would be on together are classic. They are the main reason I miss the Johnny Carson show. They were one great band. I remember they did a whirlwind tour, when Johnny retired.
