I purchased some new vinyl this week and the release by Of Montreal includes a coupon for a complete download of the album.

Other records (I didn't buy) had the same offer and a feature several had in common was the release of a track or two in analog format that are not available digitally.

I don't chase a lot of new vinyl, mainly after records with great sonics. I still enjoy unwrapping an LP and reading the cover or liner notes without glasses.

I also highly recommend The Decemberists, The Crane Wife, on vinyl.

Any comments from other vinyl hounds...?

As an aside, the same record store had a copy of Frank Zappa's, Weasels Ripped My Flesh, original press on Bizarre/Reprise for $39.99. The cover was very good Plus and I would say the record was the same.

Anyone know if this is a good deal?

From the 4th Goldmine record guide; the original (1970-blue label) on Bizarre is $25 in NM cond. The Bizarre/Reprise reissue (1973-with Reprise label) is $15. Forty bucks sounds high to me.
Interesting about the download coupons. That's one way to do it.

Thanks Dan, it did seem high, yet a month go in the same store I found a MOFI of Seger's Night Moves in really nice condition for $10.
