Thank you Thatchmo for posting pix. My dad and I made this instrument in the early 80's from scratch. He did all the woodworking, I did the design, binding, fretting and electronics. Neither of us had ever made a guitar before. This was the first and the last. Solid rock/birdseye maple. The neck goes through the body with the sides are glued on. There are two double truss rods in neck. I didn't want to take any chances with the neck bending. I cut the peghead letters out of chunck abalone. BTW, do not breathe abalone dust. There is no high to be found there. I accidentally breathed in a good amount while filing the pieces into shape. Couldn't breathe right for three days.

Built in is a Craig Anderton design compressor/limiter and tube sounding fuzztone. Pickups are triple sound Seymore Duncan's for strat, I think, wired with on/on/on switch for single coil, dual coil humbucking and dual coil series, if memory serves me well.

Been playing it since then. Still works fine, but some frets need replacing.

dderat,

That is amazing!!! Examples of DIY just don't get any finer than this. Nice work.
