Hi,

I'm new to the idea of building from scratch, but just recapped an old Pilot FA-680 tube tuner that would need a multiplex adapter to play stereo. I figured it might make a good DIY project. I'm not sure whether I would want to make a tubed on or a solid-state - any suggestions? I can't seem to find a kit available - that would probably be best for me, being a novice - so if anyone knows of a fairly easy build I'd much appreciate any suggestions.

There are MPX decoder IC's available, and there are datasheets with suggested circuit components to use them... but I cannot find any right now. :-(

Nonetheless, this might be helpful/useful/interesting:

I would join the FMTuners group over on Yahoo, and dig through the archives. Many of the once available chips are either gone, or not available in small quantities. I think there was one chip readily available, and someone was going to make circuit boards. Worth a look.

Thanks for the suggestions - good reading, while listening to radio in mono!
