The next meet will take place Jan 17, 2004 in Terrell Texas. This is just east of Dallas. Our host is Steve Gieger (haole from the bottlhead forums). You can check out some of his gear on his website:

Does the name means something in Hawaiian? Just wondering.

Yes..

In hawaiian it means without breath. Its what they called the white man when they came to hawaii because they were white. Now days, the locals will still call white people Haole. Like just the other day, One of the busdrivers was telling us which driver was going to pick us up. She said it was the "haole" lady. Since most are dark.

No one signs up, you just show up. No need to bring anything, but you're welcome to bring what ever you like; from beer to gear, it's all allowed. The theme is more tubes and DIY, but solid state and speakers are always present. We like it all, and besides, it's all about the fun. No snobs allowed. :D

Girls are welcome too. Julia enjoyed the last one down in Austin and it is always good to be able to show her people that have the fever as bad or worse than me. Puts a bit of perspective on the disease.
I think she was actually amazed by the great diversity of the people there. She asked more than once, "So the only thing you guys have in common is tube stereo? That is how you met?"
