I just picked one of these up at goodwill for $6 bucks. i dont know anything about vintage audio, but is this thing worth anything to keep around? or no.

Keep it. Low-powered Marantz units from the 22xx series are a real treat. At 16 wpc, you can have a nice office or kitchen system (or guestroom, or bathroom, or garage...).

i like the way it looks. it lights all blue when turned on, but i need more power. time to beef it up.
