My brother had two MC250s bridged to mono to power his Acoustic Energy Aegis Two towers. Before that he owned the famed MC2100 driving 105 watts per side to his Acoustic Research AR9 floorstanding loudspeakers (see my link below in my sig...I used this amp for quite awhile in my system). Now that he bought a JoLida JD 202a integrated tube amp, he just sold the MC2100, but kept the one MC250 to drive his HT center channel.

That is how I envision my Mac's....standing next to the speakers they drive....What a sight that would be. A Mac next to a L-96..pardon me while I wipe my tears..:D

My massive MC7200 at rest, waiting to unleash musical interludes at my command! One of McIntosh's prettier amps IMHO.

I agree...I think that's where McIntosh amps are their happiest, next to their loudspeakers. Such a sight indeed!;)

I have to ask.....doesn't having the amps on the floor with the wires sort of in the open make it a pain to vacuum? Does he worry about lint and static being so close to the carpet?
He must not have kids :D

I don't recall him ever complaining about vacuuming the carpet near the Mac amps, nor have we ever heard any ill effects due to static electricity (my 2 younger brothers and I all live together in our parent's old house; our folks now reside up in CT).

And here's my other brother's HT system from last year...it's also changed a bit, but his MC250 is still making beautiful music!
McIntosh is in our blood!

Definately a McSystem to be proud of. And I'll bet those ol' JBLs really put out! Had a pair of '83 JBL L112 Century II monitors that kicked major butt when blaring AC/DC or Led Zep!

Yep, a nice system to be sure! I just put some of my pics in the gallery if interested. L112's sure pack a punch too!
