It's not convenient to download and unZIp a file just for a peek. Why not resize those images (use 800x600 maximum) and then just upload as JPG's? Far better. Paul paul79 05-08-2007, 02:42 PM Dont know how to reduce size? Morden2004 05-08-2007, 02:59 PM Dont know how to reduce size? You need an image editor. Most digital cameras come with software to do this. For example, my Canon came with PhotoStudio 5 which is what I use. Used to use Photo Shop -- but it was too much for my needs. What software did you get with your camera? Paul paul79 05-08-2007, 03:05 PM Finepix viewer and I cant find nothing in it to reduce the size of the pics. I'll keep lookin. Go ahead and delete this thread if you want. I'm sory for inconvenience man. Whatcha think of the junk? This is how we all learned at the beginning. :thmbsp:  You want to find something in that editor that says "Edit Image Size" and the options should show you choices of [Pixels] or [%] or, perhaps, [Inches/Cm]. An image is generally (assuming a camera with a pixel size of 4-6 million) 3000 x 2500 pixels, for example. A good upload size is 600x400 although you can usually get away with 800x600. If you find that option, then test the size by resizing and saving the image as a new name- I usually add the size to the name. Paul paul79 05-08-2007, 03:29 PM I got it!!! Very rare around here (eBay) as I've only recorded 5 sales in more than three years. :thmbsp: Paul (not 79 :D ) paul79 05-09-2007, 10:33 AM I figured there would be some fans for ol blackie. There is one on the bay right now. Mines only got a couple little scratches on it keeping it from being mint. And of cource the cabinet needs my attention. This thing was totally screwed when I got it. They put wrong resistors in some places, wrong transistors, I had to completely go through the thing and found all kinds of stuff that wasn't supposed to be there. Just un-believable what some people do. I can see using substitutes for some switching and turn-on applications but holy crap!!! This was what you would say, "butchered to hell"! Got her back up to snuff now and all is good. Just waitin on some BP caps to get here so I can finish re-newin her. I'll take a picture of the secondary relay I took out of this thing. It's something to behold. LOL!!! How much did the last one you saw sell for Morden? I have rarely seen it in any condition. Eat yer heart out my man!!! You'll hate me forever if I told you what I got mine for. spaceman 05-09-2007, 10:44 AM Nice stuff there, paul79! :thmbsp: How come most all the black stuff I can find is PLASTIC? :tears: :D SPL db 05-09-2007, 10:52 AM I may have missed it, but what speakers are those? :scratch2: Scott paul79 05-09-2007, 11:06 AM Heres that fried relay. You'll hate me forever if I told you what I got mine for. You can see the sales figures if you go to the Sansui Database web page and select report #1 and go to page #16. I'll keep you in suspense - you check it out. And, we all know how to get to the Sansui Database web page, right? :scratch2: No? It's easy. Just click on the green [Database Sansui] logo in my sig line. :thmbsp: Paul Morden2004 05-09-2007, 11:17 AM Heres that fried relay. Talk about some arc weldin!!! Yup! Welded good. OK, here is a tip from yours truly (an old, ex-electronics guy) for those of you not familiar with contact failure: 1. Never, never, never start your amp/receiver with the volume above zero! 2. Never switch speakers in/out (A, B, A+B etc.) with the volume above zero! (OK, that's two). The problem is that all contacts will arc if the circuit has potential between the contacts. This is a given. If, for example, you're pulling 5 amps and switch the speaker relay closed you will generate an arc. Over time that will deposit carbon on the face. Eventually you will experience one or both of the following: poor/no contact, and heat/fire (briefly). The above advice also applies to the power on/off switch. Of course, it always see a resistance and hence there will always be somewhat of an arc -- but why add to that misery by having the speakers connected and the volume up? However, these switches are generally designed to 'wipe' those contacts on each cycle. But, trust me, use a power bar instead of those vintage unobtanium switches. Paul paul79 05-09-2007, 11:40 AM Ah, someone noticed the speaks....... I have put these before my wives in the past! LOL!! Funny, but absolutely true. They are a homebrew of my own creative arts. Top to bottom: Of cource, an infamous bullet tweeter, a wharfedale midrange believe it or not is the best cone mid I have "ever" heard, a JBL LE-10A 10" woofer, and a custom built 12" woofer I had the speaker repair man build for me. I think the basket is a marants actually with beefed up spider and voice coil. Sound truly amazing!!!! You have to hear to believe. The tweeter and crossover are in a box, the 10" and midrange are in a box, and the 12" is in its own box. Thats three enclosures in one cab. Solid as concrete. It took years to get them to sound perfect. I think any true speaker project would. I wont touch them anymore as they are perfect for my listening ear and only higher end Klipch can compete in my book. Any powering device sounds great on these. I dont care if its 50 watts or 250, They sound incredible. I had a guy that worked in a studio change his whole system after hearing these. My good buddy is buying up all kinds of drivers because I told him I would help him build a set of speakers. This is a guy who listened to music every once in a while untill he came to my house. I ruined his ears and he cant find anything at the stores that will compare. There like a drug. One sitting and your throwin away all your audio gear and begging me to build you some speaks!! I seem like a bragger but these have all the braggin rights in the world if you ask me. Turn em on and your glued to the couch till the wify divorces you and tries to take them away from you. I must give credit to my pops as he helped with the design and theory put in these. They were an awesome adventure into the realms of musicality. I must give credit to my pops as he helped with the design and theory put in these. They were an awesome adventure into the realms of musicality. Awesome!! I'm green with envy. I understand your point about not wanting to part with them. I repaired a pair of custom built speakers last fall -- EV horns (1-mid & 1-tweeter) & dual 12" woofers in each box. They had SpealerLab xovers. Boxes were acoustic suspension and measured 15" x 16" x 45" so they were big. No partitioning needed - horns! Love them. The owner drove them with a Sansui AU-719 (which I also repaired). I kicked out 1 woofer in each and retro-fitted a pair of 12" Klipschorn 'Red' magnets and plugged the other 12" opening. There was too high a dB from the dual woofers - they were not easy to trim. I worked them in for a week -- and I didn't want to send them back! They were wonderful. Paul paul79 05-09-2007, 12:30 PM Ahh yes the sweet sound of horns. I have been dreaming up another homebrew with horns incorporated in the design. You love em or you hate em and we love em!!!!!!!!!! paul79 05-09-2007, 12:55 PM Collections for my next project..... 70 inches of JBL!!!! Whatcha think of this design? paul79 05-09-2007, 03:09 PM Thinking about a powered sub for movies. Any suggestions on a good 15"? |
