View Full Version : Week 10 [mid-season report]
Well, it's mid-season... what does everyone think about FF!? I know that most of us are/were rookies when the season started. Does following "your players" enhance your football viewing or distract from it? Is it more fun or what? For me, it been all three. It taken a passive activity and adds a personal element [hey, I'm the coach!] While THAT has been fun, I find I watch less of the games and spend more time watching updates; Stat-Tracker, ticker, football forums. And with my favorite team having such a losing season, the FF aspect has given me a reason to tune in when I could have just tuned out. Nah, I'm a fan, I'd never do that. Anyway, it's been different, and winning feels good no matter how contrived the activity.

Now, do I start Pennington or Green at QB... if Chad, then sit Davis, Bennett and start Martin at RB... and Conway at WR... hmmmm...

MikE:
It's been a lot of fun. The guys here talk it up more (albeit here rather than in the "Posts" section of the league page) which makes it more interesting.
With the playoffs looming, we all need to watch our matchups to make the cut. Remember only the top four make it, first by record, then by points, so play your horses and run up your scores. Last trade date is Friday, but it looks like the waivers are open forever (we'll find out Saturday, I guess).
Dump your injured if they aren't going to be playing!
Also, check out your schedules. Some teams/players face tougher roads so their studs may not score as well as some lesser players. Byes are over this week, so everyone will have a full roster.
Should I play Pennington? Tough call with Trent Green on the pine. Calls like this make it FUN!!!
Oh, I'm definately starting Chad. No question. Trent would be good also, but the Raiders sux just a little more than the Brownies. :) MikE

Oh I agree, I'm starting him in my league; he's made all the Jets better plays and Santana Moss absolutely rocks in my buddies' all-yardage league.
Especially against the Raiders.
They got beat by the pathetic Lions last week; how embarrassing!!!

I'm having fun with it though my team sucks. Wouldn't be so bad
if I had picked them. :( I'm just playing to not be last now. Grumpy and I ought to get a side wager going.
I don't put a lot of time in it though as a home game weekend pretty much takes up your whole Sunday. It's nice to have the bye weekend today.
Next year will be better, can't be worse!

It's been damn fun! Fantasy football has actually got me watching football again...and I'm having a blast! thanks guys :)
pro...I've got a proposed trade for you...
How do I feel about my team? I still think it's mediocre. I'm just not well rounded :dunno:
Swiped my RB cast off - R.Johnson - off waivers. :gigglemad Good for you. MikE

This is going to leave a mark! I think there oughta be some kind of claimer rule when someone gets over 100 points. Andy, you need to fork over some of those high scorers to us less fortunate teams
Jon
Grumps got one player Monday night but your leads is safe. MikE
18 points from your kicker :wtf: that's B.S. man :smilemad: And you've got Farve tomarrow night :ntwrthy: That ain't right. MikE
:wtf: Just wasn't my week. 1st I screw around and sit T.Green for C.Pennington [cost me 6 points] then my RB stud is hurt and I start C.Martin [3 points - thanks] and my three WRs net me 3 points total while my man on the bench had 11. My TE zip. And even with all that M.Stover would have put me over the top... except I dropped him early this morning for Green Bay's kicker Monday night. With my luck he'll break his leg in pre-game warmups. I'm not bitchin', it's quite comical.
What a kooky, upset filled weekend... hell, even my Chargers won BIG! :screwy: MikE

Sometimes things just fall right.
I could have used a few of these points two weeks ago, when you were whuppin' me with 99 points:D
Hopefully, I'm hittin' a playoff stride.
PS: Looks like GF is going Green and Gold for the stretch!
Nice move; they have a very favorable schedule. I plan on riding Favre over Chicago, Detroit, and SD and through the playoffs.
