masterlu 06-05-2007, 10:26 PM I would like to Dedicate my 3000th post to Everyone on AK that I have spoken to (via email or phone) and or, had the Pleasure to meet in person.
Additionally, I hope that in a small way I have inspired some, educated many, helped or enhanced others with this wonderful hobby we call “Music”.
Passionate would be a good word to describe my particular devotion to this Forum, McIntosh, and most importantly “All AK Members” for without you & your support, none of us would be here!
A Special Thanks to Ron & all the Moderators for their dedication, and unending work you do.
I will sign off with a Final wish for everyone, and that is; may all Your Dreams Come True, You & Your Family Be Blessed with Good Health & Enjoy every day more than the last.
You Guys & Gals are the Best!

Ivan,
I for one feel a 'kinship' with you....you impart knowledge, and humor for all....Bravo to you... all the best and congrats on the 3000th post!!
forzaroma 06-05-2007, 11:09 PM Ivan,
I never met you in person, but I feel like I know you. You are quite a character, and kudos to you for being so open, sharing, and generous with other AKrs.
It would be very easy for someone with your resources and super-system to make the rest of us to feel like audio gnats, but I've never even seen an hint of condescension or superiority in your posts.
The only time your posts make me cringe is when I read about you blasting your mighty system at 120db
Congratulations on your 3,000 post and here's to your next 3,000:thmbsp:

DaWoofer 06-05-2007, 11:23 PM Congrats! Hope you and your family are in good health and continue to be blessed by our Lord. By the way, if I see your name on a post, I read it. Someone with the equipment that you have must know a little about it by now. Talk at you later. Bryan

goldear 06-06-2007, 01:43 AM Congrats Ivan! You seem to have gained an almost legendary status in your time here. But with a system like yours, this is quite understandable. :ntwrthy:
Here's to the next 3000! :beerchug:
Arkay 06-06-2007, 01:53 AM Congratulations on that 3,000th post, Ivan! :thmbsp: Although we've never met face-to-face, I've truly enjoyed reading your posts and learning from them; you are indeed a valuable member of the AK community (and especially the McIntosh forum). Your system is an inspiration to us all (love those cars, too  ), and at least gives us "mere mortals" some vicarious pleasure and an incentive to get out there and earn a few more $$$! :D Hope you will keep those posts coming for years to come.
misterdoggy1 06-06-2007, 01:54 AM Congrats Ivan,
Though I've only been here a short time, its obvious your passion is one of the driving forces behind AK. May you enjoy many more posts :)
mulester7 06-06-2007, 02:07 AM .....I've talked to Ivan a few times on the phone, and it wasn't but a handful of years ago his income wasn't anything like it became upon moving to his present location....to me, all indications are he hasn't changed from then to now, and I can respect this type person like no other....you're a mighty good man, Ivan, and, as the doctor said, one day the large hairy horn will simply fall off your forehead and all things will be perfectly normal for you.....
Mark B 06-06-2007, 03:06 AM Congratulations masterlu - post whore extraordinaire! :tresbon:

birddog 06-06-2007, 05:41 AM Congratulations, Ivan!
I for one have always been inspired by your knowledge, passion, and devotion towards AK and it's members. You and I are worlds apart financially speaking, yet somehow we manage to find a common ground here amongst the many wonderful members, as well as the hard working crew, that make this a special place.
Someday, I hope to be lucky enough to find that $20 yard sale McIntosh stack, so I can experience for myself the equipment that makes you and the other McIntosh owners are so passionate! Until then, I will continue to live vicariously through you and the other McIntosh owners systems....
rlrct 06-06-2007, 06:12 AM It's been both entertaining and educational to have you as a part of AK. I my mind, the best part of your participation is being able to vicariously experience what a 'no holds barred' system can be like. While most of us are forced to include finances in the cost-benefit equation, it's great to have someone who not only pushes the envelope but defines a new envelope. Some of that knowledge can and does trickle down in our more humble systems. It's probably a good thing that McIntosh doesn't have a "10K" series!
jimmyc1996 06-06-2007, 06:25 AM Congrats

Your knowledge and your willingness to share it with all is extraordinary

JamesH 06-06-2007, 07:51 AM Congratulations Ivan.
You are the greatest! I always look forward to your enlightened and insightful comments. I have learned much about high end audio and getting the most out of the best audio equipment available (McIntosh, of course) from you. The greatest pleasure of all was meeting you in person and meeting your wonderful family last winter.
Thank you so much for your tremendous contribution to this forum and to us fortunate AKers to have you as a contributor and mentor.  :music:

two dot 06-06-2007, 09:47 AM Ivan,
I am coming to this monumental post a little late but I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for all of the help you have given to me and so many others on this forum.
You have always been there to answer my silly questions and have always given good advice on gear choices and how to get the most from my modest systems.
It is really a pleasure to be able to interact with people that are geographically so far away, but just a few keystrokes from answering an important question or maybe just bringing a smile to my face (which you often do!)
Again, thank you for sharing all of your experience and knowledge with us here.
May you live long and continue to prosper will another 3000 posts.

dewickt 06-06-2007, 09:48 AM Very good Ivan, now for the next 3K, while you and some others handle all the nice new gear I will stay with the nice old McIntosh, we will all enjoy the sounds and now sight of the best there is.......
I enjoy helping others build their System; since mine is done.
Whaaat? "Mine is done" said Ivan as he climbed up the ladder to install the MDLP1 into the ceiling with Masterlu Jr. holding the ladder and eyeballing the cabinets in search of an open shelf just big enough for the VP1000. :D
markc2 06-06-2007, 09:56 AM Hi Ivan,
Congratulations on the big 3000. :thmbsp:
Thanks for your advice and humor. There seem to be too many unhappy people in the world. I am glad you are bucking the trend.
:yippy: :yippy:
:yippy: :yippy:
P.S I bought a sound meter and it's been a trip, now on to room acoustic improvement.
masterlu 06-06-2007, 09:59 AM True, very true!
But when you are installing the 2nd Video Projector in the Same Room, you are done-diddley-done.

250TiMan 06-06-2007, 01:29 PM Congratulations Ivan on your 3000th. I have learned qite a bit from your posts and saved some money as well. March 06 or so I was thinking of getting the 402 amp, but not sure when. When you indicated prices were going up in about a month I got off the fence and ordered. Thanks! Jack

Ivan, what was your first post? How has your system evolved since then?
Thanks for your great enthusiasm!
Ed
I don't know what my first post was, AK only goes back 500 posts.
My System evolved quite a bit since I became a member. It all started with a trip to McIntosh to hear the XRT2K prototype. I bought them on the spot to replace my XRT30's.
Then came more 1201's, lots of them. Then the MC2KW (after all bigger is better).
Then the C1000, MS300, MCD201, etc. Oh yeah, Ron turned me on to AK
Way to go Ron! :thmbsp:
Somewhere in the middle I got carried away with RGPC units.
masterlu 06-06-2007, 09:21 PM I forgot to really answer your question. My System went from being Extremely Good & quite Happy with.
to:
Industrial Strength, Bullet Proof, Over the Top, Curl your Toes "Awesome"
It really sounds like a completely different System. One analogy would be all my life I have owned various systems & heard different systems. They all had some limitation or weakness, be it Imaging; Bass; Power; Certain Frequencies; SPL's in general (you kind of know how far not to go with the gain control)
Now the System is off the chain, there is literally not one limitation that I can think of. That's why I call it "Industrial Strength"
The weak link is the "Human Ear" Goodbye...

Thanks Carl, my first post!
I have the MCD/MDA1000 & also run my MS300 through the MDA1000. It has me completely in awe. My entire CD collection sounds like digital masters. I have never enjoyed my Cd's more. This combination is without a doubt a must have, if affordable.
Thanks Carl, my first post!

In your own way you have made the world a smaller place, you have touched and inspired many people, including moi...in the end that is all that matters.
Just be careful not to upset the magnetic balance of the planet with all those RGPC units :D BTW now that the "big bang" experiment at the LHC is postponed to 2008, maybe you could perform the experiment at your place...I can imagine the headlines..."Masterlu, a Floridian Entrepreneur, unleashes pure McPower to unravel the mysteries of the universe." :scratch2:
