After catching the Pioneer SX 850 Receiver bug--again I reranged the shop. Put the 850 on a small TV Stand. To make room on the bench I moved my Dual 1009 and placed it in the receiver. Hooked up my TEAC 1230 RTR and TEAC 450 Cassette tonight. Ran the 450 through a Radio Shack tape monitor box so I can hookup repair stuff. Its nice to be able to get at the back of the receiver to test turntables too.

After unboxing some CD's from my move--last June. Dont play CD's much around here. Make them for friends Have loads of them but have also have loads of LPs.

Since American Idol one of the Gibbs on I got the urge to spin a Bee Gee's LP. My Main Course LP is mint from Salvation Army. Sweet soundings thru the JBL L100's. Always liked that LP:thmbsp: Good times too!:huge:

One of 2 sealed lp's I bought yesterday for cheap documenting this live 1973 performance at the Keystone Korner in San Francisco in 1973. On the Theresa label which was in next door El

I've heard the same thing about Widespred Panic and only have one studio album plus this live set given to me by AKer Audiopeasant, but I prefer the live sets so far. My neighbors are friends of the band, (the band is from Athens, GA, about 50 miles east) and they have told me that the live shows capture the band's essence better than the studio sessions, too.

That actually surprises me- without checking, I was thinking 82 or 83. It's a VERY different album, stylistically, than the following year's No Guru, No Method, No Teacher.

I just checked Wikipedia and while it was released in 1985, it was actually recorded in 1983. So your instincts are correct, sir.

Sonny Rollins, (ts); John Coltrane (ts) (track 1 only); Red Garland, (p); Paul Chambers, (b); Philly Joe Jones, (d).

Recorded May 24, 1956.

Interesting in that this session uses Miles Davis' rhythm section from his first great quintet. Not unusual though. That rhythm section was "hot" and very popular back then. Every horn blower who was anybody wanted a go with them. Art Pepper played with them on his "Meets The Rhythm Section" album.

Cheers

Plus Bidad, meaning 'Injustice', a piece described as a lament for the divided society that followed the Iranian revolution of 1979, written in the traditional style by santur player Parviz Meshkatian and sung by Mohammad Reza Shajarian.
