Tad Weed, (p); Kurt Krahnke, (b); Sean Dobbins, (d). The is a piano trio that Dmax99 (David) and his wife saw in person a couple of weeks back at the same place we saw Cedar Walton. They were selling ceedees and I had previously asked David to get me one if he thought they were any good. Well, he was right. This is damn good music but I'm a sucker for piano trios anyway. Drybasement & Meggy: Interesting coincidence all this Jethro Tull talk; my brother just sent me a copy of something called Jethro Tull: Aqualung Live (Released in 2005), which I'd actually planned on listening to later today. This was recorded "live" for XM radio? Whatever, the sound quality can only be an improvement over the original release, a real ear-acher IMO...love the tunes, but hate the production. Wonder how Ian's voice will sound...he was straining to hit notes by 1980. Wonder how Ian's voice will sound...he was straining to hit notes by 1980. I have that album. Ian puts an interesting twist to some of the tunes. Hymn 43 is nothing like the original so hold onto your pants when you hear that one. And as you know, Ian's voice is nothing like it once was although it did improve some over the years. Aqualung Live is an interesting take on an old familiar album and I believe Ian donated all proceeds to charity. Edwin, have you heard the DCC of Aqualung mastered by Steve Hoffman? The Aqualung master tapes were hosed right from the very start and the DCC is by far the best you'll ever hear that album.
