...but the DCC's of Master Of Puppets and Ride The Lightning are surprisingly surprising. :D

Cheers

Got 'em both, like 'em both but especially Ride The Lightning. And yes, nothing by them beyond And Justice For All around here, either.

The Aqualung master tapes were hosed right from the very start and the DCC is by far the best you'll ever hear that album. I think Steve managed to polish that turd of a recording enough to make it a pleasurable listen.

Basement,
In complete agreement, it's the only copy of Aqualung I've heard without that terrible hiss through the entire album.

I have always been a big Tull fan, if you don't have "The Best Of Acoustic Jethro Tull" you must pick it up. All tunes on the albumn have been remasterd and sound great.

This copy of the famous "beatleg" has received the Dr Ebbetts remastering treatment. Recorded in 1968 at Harrison's estate named "Kinfauns", this is essentially the whole of what would become the White Album, done acoustically (unplugged in today's parlance), on a two-track recorder.

In the mail from France today some most excellent doom and gloom,

Remembrance - Frail Visions
The riffs in the eight tracks are seamlessly brought together to create a swirling flow, accented by echoing percussion, foreboding keyboards, raw and impending guitars, and mournfully depressing vocals. Mixed in are the odd female vocals along with crushing piano melodies, adding a touch of beauty without straying into the boundaries of gothic metal.

Thanks Mystic. Good job with the needledrop recording. Man, is this ever good. Very bluesy in a Rolling Stones/Janis Joplin sort of way. As I understand it, this was her only album. I'll pass this along to Dmax99 tomorrow as we'll be attending another jazz concert that evening. I'm sure he'll dig this.

John Dennis, (p); Charles Mingus, (b); Max Roach, (d).

Recorded on the then newly formed Debut Records label founded by Mingus and Roach. Mingus and Roach were looking for new talent to add to their label when they discovered John Dennis. Fantastic piano work. This would be his only album as a leader but John went on to play in Mingus' Jazz Workshop.
