Anyone know of a nice Silver Faced DVD Player or changer? That is the last thing in my A/V set-up that doesn't have a silver faceplate and it really sticks out :nono: Just looking for something nice to match the rest of my gear. :thmbsp:

If you want to spend the money, Denon makes some nice ones.
If you're wanting cheap, check out the Pioneers at Wal Mart. They're pretty decent.
See some different ones here:

Good luck!

Cambridge Audio 540D I'm going to be using one as the main digital player in my System soon as I get a chance to tear the whole Shrine apart and swap it in.

Spent part of Sat & Sunday between sheetrock compound drying sessions looking for same thing. I wanted to know why my Sony ...725p sounded so nice in the HT system and my dedicated Kyocera CD player did not when playing some blues stuff (CDs)? I looks like it turned out to be the 192kHz 24 bit DAC in the Sony compared to the 14 bit system in the Kyocera?
I wanted a silver 192 deck to fit into my vintage gear system(s) and a fairly new silver Toshiba DVD player I own does not sound all that good either? So I went looking. No Darth Vader black allowed.
After checking specs and reading reviews on and off, it came down to what would play all media including home rolled CD-Rs, MP3 CDs and all the usual.
Found a well respected Onkyo entry level machine for $125 at B&H in Silver. Ordered one. Here's the search string:
Onkyo DV-SP404 DVSP404 DVD Player (Silver) DVD Players - $125.00
I aslo looked at higher end machines, but they always had "issues" with one media type or another. The MFG would say all compatable, but the users would report glitches. The Onkyo had nothing but good reviews. No glitches, nada reported. I'll let you all know when it arrives. Looks nice too.
OBTW - it's suposed to upscale video for near HiDef picture quaility without having that great a source? I don't care as I'm only going to be doing audio with it, but some others might be interested?

If you can afford a little more, go for the 840C, also in silver. This unit performs almost as well as some veeeery expensive stuff and has a lot of technical wizardry. More important, it has external digital inputs, so it can serve as the DAC for your computer, etc.
I have one, and love it.

BrocLuno I would would be appreciative of a report on the Onkyo. I have a Sony 755 that gives very good service;plays all type of discs, but I am put off by its black plastic face. It looks out of place with the silver face Sony amp 1120.

I have a Samsung DVD-HD841. I love it. It has a great picture with the HD upconverting. It has DVI that I was looking long and hard for because my TV does not have HDMI.
The sound from it is good too, I use it as my CD player.
It looks great.
The remote kinda sucks though and I have read that they are not reliable but I have had mine for a year (second hand) with no problems.

I 2nd the motion. the 563 has a superb audio section, that was not matched by the models that replaced it. You will have to spend significantly more to beat it.
Enjoy,

A friend of mine has a silver Magnavox DVD player. It's nothing fancy, high-end or expensive. I think he bought it at Target.
