I'm listening to the new John Mayall disk, No Days Off. This is one of the best sounding live recordings that I have ever heard. Very clear sound, apparently a sound board recording. It sounds like a studio recording. The audience is one of those polite British audiences that don't yell and scream all the way through the recording. Five stars. Plus, this is only available from the John Mayall web site, not in stores. So maybe it will be a rare collectible some day.

My two lovely neices are going to Moncton,New Brunswick tommorrow on a shopping spree.I phoned ahead to Frank's Music, once known as Sam the Record Man.
I ordered the following Mayall discs:
Turning Point
Blues Forever
Jazz Fusion
His music cannot be had here on PEI.I could have ordered more but it is so hard to think of artists when you've got somebody running around a store with a cell picking cds for you.

I saw John Mayall play live this past summer. He is one of the
great English blues legends well worth seeing live. After the
show he signed a stack of lp's and cd's I brought along.

The new John Mayall 70th Birthday DVD is out now. It's available at the same link that I posted earlier, or in stores. It has the same lineup as the CD that I mentioned earlier, but with guest performances by Mick Taylor, Eric Clapton and others.
This is an awesome disk, a must have.
