Whether or not this matters is up to you. I just received some stuff from this character that wasn't really posted in the classified section. It was conducted off-line for some stuff I knew he had and that he knew I wanted. Knowing of something he wanted that I had, arrangements were made.
His stuff arrived flawlessly. Some small and relatively inexpensive speakers were packed as if they were Faberge Eggs. He even got them here in time for a get together and was willing to wait for his trade until after the get together.
Not everybody may receive the same treatment. I've done transactions and had correspondence with him for years. I'm just happy with the relationship we have and would encourage others to do the same. Even if he is an ass.:D

He can be abrasive, he can APPEAR to be an asshole, but you deal with Russ, you're going to get the goods in excellent condition, in minimum time, with a minimum of hassle.
You owe me one scumtoes.

I know only too well how selling vintage audio gear will test your metal . . . 20-30 year old receivers are finicky enough on a good day but try bouncing one down the highway and no matter how well it is packed you sit on pins and needles waiting for that first email telling you everything is in order. . . It is when that first email tells you that everything is not in order when you want to jump straight up and cuss the world, kick the cat or do whatever you do during these times. It is during these times when you truly learn what you and the seller are made of. All the insurance or guarantees don’t mean a damn thing at this moment. You go through the whole range of emotions and you ask yourself “Now what?”
As long as everything works right and that first email continues to be positive everything is easy. It is easy to look good when everything is going your way. The hard thing is to look good when everything is not going your way. I have had only a few bad experiences buying vintage audio gear but each one has been a learning experience. Most were bad experiences that I don’t want repeated?
I am here to tell you that even though this piece I bought from Russ although not working like he or I thought it would has not been a bad experience, just the opposite. . . This seller “RuSsman” is a class act all the way. Russ calmly gets to the bottom of the issue, settles it and moves on. I have absolutely no reservations about buying from him again, matter of fact he will be on my list of trusted sellers at the top.
I thought long and hard before posting this but what better recommendation can I give someone. What would best tell other buyers that this seller is number one in my book than how they function under less than ideal conditions? I won’t get into the specifics of the problem other than to say it was just one of those things that bite all of us on occasion; I am convinced that in no way was there any intention to mislead as this problem actually surprised us both.
I know too many buyers who are afraid to buy anything for fear of getting burned and no recourse. That won’t happen with this man I can tell you that. If you are sitting on the fence wanting to buy a vintage audio piece fall off on Russ’s side you won’t regret it.
I say again Russ you are a class act!

Thanks for the kind words fellas.
First and foremost, I have FUN with audio. Buying, selling, scrounging. On a rare occasion, something gets overlooked, or a hickie appears after shipping.
Bottom line, as mama always said, treat people as you would want to be treated. I'm a big believer in doing whats right, without question or fail. I've also come to be a big believer in actual 'audio karma', what comes around, goes around.
Some of you guys here are my best customers, and in getting you a fair deal, well, at the minimum it supports my audio hobby, and more often than not, it pays a bill or two around here.
Integrity is the word, and you guys have it in spades. Thanks again for the 'props'.
Cheers,
Russ
