Hmmmm:scratch2: The only one I can help with at all is The Bird is the Word by the Rivingtons, and then only by saying it was on the soundtrack of the movie "In the Heat of the Night" in 1967. Hope that helps some, Jay

Looking for MP3s? You can join emusic.com for a month and download 30 songs (plus the first 25 free ones) - they have the Ventures, the Rivingtons, Duane Eddy, Link Wray, the Trashmen, Jimmy McGriff... that's as far as I looked.

All for the price of a CD...

I only found enough to justify a month's membership... but they have added quite a few artists since.

Welcome DrDragon. I'm not going to be any help on that list of songs and musicians but will suggest you ask a moderator to move this thread to the Music Forum, you may have better luck. Use the exclaimation point in the upper right to contact a mod.

I LOVE that list you've got. I'm pretty sure all of those Ventures tracks are in print thanks to 2fer reissues. The bat is on The Ventures in Space, I know that because I've got it on vinyl. And it's in print (CD of course). Pedal Pusher is on Walk Don't Run vol II (also in print). I second the google idea, you'll come up with half your list in no time.

What you can't find, try here. He knows more about oldies than anyone else I know of. (Read Mr. Music. You'll see.)http://www.jerryosborne.com/

You'll be able to find MP3s for most of the songs on your list using Google, even the polka stuff.

I'll try again later but i was unable to get any of these songs "mp3" useing google. I was able to get these few though,

1) Baby Sticks & The Kingtones - Pigmy

2) Booker T & The MG's - Green Onions

3) Rivingtons - The Bird is the Word

4) Pete Seeger - Little Boxes

But that is why I didn't list them. At least I tried not to.

Have you tried contacting some of the other Ghoulardi fans on the net? I see that your list came right off someone's site, so did you contact them about it?

You might also try contacting fans of The Ghoul, Hoolihan and Big Chuck, and Big Chuck and Little John, since these shows played some of the same music. (Of course, they played it because Ernie played it first.)

If you downloaded these 4 songs as mp3s from sites you found via Google, you may very well have engaged in piracy. Did you make sure that you were entitled to have copies of these songs before downloading them?

I got "pigmy" by buying a new CD from Amazon. The rest were off the net. I will be more careful, thanks.
I have contacted a few people from the sites mentioned but have gotten no response yet. The list I am using is

Hi, my name is Jim Brickner a founder of the City Squires...We recorded =
The Parma Polka in 1966 at audio recording. The Band Members were Jim =
Brickner lead guitar / Roland Solomon Bass / Tom Kent rhythm guitar lead =
vocals / Dale Zack Drums. The song was written by our manager Jimmy =
Testa. I've always been somewhat embarrassed by the song but now I've =
gotten used to people asking me about it. In any event that's me saying =
"the Parma Polka" at the end of the song.

To learn more go to buckeyebeat.com click on bands/performers click on "c" then City Squires.

Neat stuff, Jim. Do you still have any of the guitars you are playing in the pix?

The very best place to search this kind of stuff is The All Music Guide.

www.allmusic.com

Check it out, you'll see why. It's the best by far.

Sadly, no. Bought/sold and traded guitars and amps over the years..have nothing left from the 60's. Some of them would be worth many thousands.
Oh well, who knew!
