Or theator projector. I have read about people using these to project onto a sheet or a screen in the back yard etc for a "drive in" experience. Lol, it sounds like fun with the kids. Hook up a cheap surround system or even better get some original drive-in window speakers. I have looked on ebay but I'm thinking if I want wide screen or if a bulb soon dies, I might be better off going to a retail store and spending $800. This does not have to be HD btw.
What do you think?

Here is a link to projector central. Probably the best reference I could provide for you.

^^^DEFINITELY not high-def! Another option is projectors from less than 5 years ago that can give you HD but aren't 1080p and they cost very little. The bulb issue remains though.

These points are all well taken. I will have to decide if I want to pay more for HD and wide sceen.
