I emailed him and this is his response...

"Hello to responders to the Craigslist listing of AR-3 speakers.

This is the first time I've used Criagslist, and I'm amazed at the effectiveness of this free forum. There have been 14 responses since the posting was published some 12 hours ago . I'm uncertain whether this reflects a vast audience at Craigslist or the popularity of AR speakers. Maybe a bit of both.

Some of the inquiries appear to be from folks who use the web to make money, and are looking for bargains to flip for a profit. But others appear to be from folks who may be hobbyists likely to keep them for personal use. This latter group is receiving this email.

Rather than have the speakers continue to lay in a closet unused, I want them to go to someone who will use and enjoy them, perhaps after upgrading or refurbishing the cross-overs and pots as discussed in some fora on old speakers. The number of responses presents a dilemma. Ideally, I'd like the units to go to the person who would most appreciate them. But I've no information to base a decision. So, I'm writing to you to ask for some. Please tell me why you are interested in these speakers, and where/how they will be used. If you are an audio enthusiast, supply a bit of historical info on how long you've had this interest and what models of speakers and other equipment you own and have owned.

If you are still interested, please reply. If not, then please excuse my cluttering your IN box with this email.

P.S: Regarding the transaction itself:

1. Cash payment is expected. I would reluctantly consider a credit card payment if you have a PayPal account and route payment to my PayPal account.
2. The price is firm. If you've looked at AR-3s, you know my price is at the low end of the spectrum, but units in this price range typically are nowhere near the excellent appearance of these units.
3. Price is for pickup at my house in Orinda, CA. I would consider making delivery within an hours' drive for $50 extra."

Not the usual CR response after many emails. I give him or her credit.
