I am in need of advice regarding the cueing mechanism on my AR-XB.

The range of "lift" (i.e. the vertical distance that the cueing moves the tonearm) is very limited...perhaps 1/16" or even less. It does not move upward enough to lift the stylus off the LP.

I suspect that the silicone inside the piston has leaked out over the years, leading to this current situation.

Can anyone advise on..

1. What can I use to "refill" the cueing system, and where I can obtain it?
2. How to accomplish the repair?

I'd like to do it myself (rather than bringing it to a tech) if at all possible.

Many thanks in advance.

You'll find what you need here:

The XB arm lifter easily screws apart. Just apply the oil to the cylinder wall, reassemble and adjust the height and lowering speed as necessary.
