Looking through a box of my grandfathers things I found a few interesting items
A Clarkstan Phono Needle Gauge

A Empire Replacement Diamond Stylus in the box unopened.

Anybody recognize these things? I'm not sure how old they are.

Well, that's the first time I've ever seen one of those gauges. Do you know if it works?
As for the stylus, the best I can determine is that it's this or something close:

Nothing you'd want to use, but an interesting collectible.

Not sure, I literally just pulled it out of the box and took the pic to post it. It seems like it would work fine to me.
He had built a cabinet and put a Turntable in it. My brother has it stored, I really need to go check it out and see what it is. This stylus has to be for that one.

Looks like he had a Shure M7-N21D cartridge.

Yep, that's it. Wonder why Empire, a competitor was selling Shure styli?

Yeah, weird. The stylus has "Shure" stamped on the side on it.

Yeah, it's cool find things like this that were just packed away and forgotten.

That gauge is very cool, and looks to be in great condition! Wonder if it's still accurate... :scratch2:

Well by the looks of it how should I even use this guy? Would I place it on the platter then put the tonearm down into the small cup on it?

That was my assumption too, from the photo.
