Mostly testing out the new subwoofers (OM says 20 hrs break-in).
The receiver is an old TOTL Pioneer Elite VSX-99. 130 watts RMS, continuos, both channels driven @ 8 ohms. Rated 100 watts x 5 channels. Discrete amps. Beautiful, too, with the rosewood side panels.
HT speaker set up includes a pair of Yamaha NS-A838, 12-inch, 3-ways with cloth surrounds, 4" midrange, & a 1" urethane foam laminated cloth dome tweet. The center channel is a single NS-A835, the surrounds the NS-A638. Subwoofers are the new A-Neutronics A-NS12 12-inchers/150 watts RMS.
Playing War, a best of comp. Sounds pretty darn good.
Sure, it is better at HT duty, but the sound is worth a listen now and then. It is kinda neat with the rear surrounds in the mix

Sounds like a nice rig! Would love to hear a good DVD-A/SACD on it. What is your source player? I also have a vintage HT rig, And have a blast with it daily. I used to use a Pioneer VSX-1015 120x7(No HMDI), But have switched to Multi-Amps with a Prosessor. I also use HPM 100's, A DIY center (Pioneer Drivers) and a JBL Sub. Audio, Or Video, It's never boring around here.:thmbsp:

The source is a 10-year-old Apex AD-1500 that is actually built quite well. I ended up buying two of them.
Got the two A-Neutronics subwoofers, and one Sony subwoofer with another sony on the way. Gonna get all four running in the HT.
Gotta get a 15/16 ft subwoofer cable, and I'll just go with a Monster cable from best buy.
The Pioneer Elite VSX-99 is a super receiver, and would make a great stereo receiver with 130 wpc and super low THD/IMD.
