Yeah, I'd like the TV-12, too..But people in Hell would like ice water, & they're about as likely to get it as I am that toob tester...

He had a sad thing going for Bose...and being an engineer I would have thought he would have known better.

I thought the same thing.. but I wonder if it's kind of like calling the mail man a "bill delivery engineer"? .. I have a feeling he just liked to do sound for bands in his spare time looking at the hodge podge of stuff...

Probably just another one of us..

Any of the local audio scroungers going to go dig through the Bose stuff and see if there are any hidden gems in the pile?

This was a good sale. I scored 5 items, including the Revox and Studer pieces. The Revox CD player is the ultra-rare Signature Edition.

Pricing averaged about 5% on the dollar, in other words...EXCELLENT!

Lots more good stuff there, loads of tubes and Ampex pieces. If you are close, GO. Mark Hardy........where were you?

Best,

Paul :thmbsp:

Once again, Beemer was wearing his lucky underwear! I'm stuck here, or I'd go take a look at the remaining items....

He was an acoustic engineer from Mass. Maybe he worked for Bose. If I worked for Bose (Heaven forbid!) I'd probably have a ton of take-home stuff too.

I had shot an email to the craigslist ad last monday, seeing if anything was left - didn't hear back, so I figured everything was gone. . .

weeeeeellllll got an email on Saturday saying he'd be throwing the leftovers up on craigslist - and whaddya know - the beat up Ampex console Beemer had told me about was STILL THERE

R2R player stuffed with telefunken ECC83's, separate preamp with FOUR tele ECC83's, cute little PP 6973 monoblock amps with Triad transformers, Garrard TT, AM/FM tuner. Speakers area 12 inch woofer in a sealed cabinet, and an unknown HF unit in a separate sub-enclosure which was NAILED SHUT - didn't feel like breaking out the crowbar to find out

Drove up to Beemer's place this AM, followed him to Sterling, dropped $100 and filled the car. I called my wife half expecting to get chewed out for spending so much $$, but she me by surprised by saying:

" So I guess you won't be mad that I spent $135 on a pair of Jeans "

HA ! mad ?!?!? hell no ! it means we're both happy

In addition to the Console, which is SUPER COOL I grabbed:

a pair of Atlas PD60 HF compression drivers
a pair of Ampex 'suitcase' model 2010 amplified speakers ( PP 6V6 & NICE 8 inch JBL inspired / designed FR driver )
another Ampex R2R 'suitcase' that matches the console mounted one, and ALSO stuffed with all tele ECC83's
funky kit Viking / Knight tube amped portable R2R

the fact that I could sell a couple ribbed plate telefunken ECC83 to cover today's fun is a nice thought . . I think I have 10 total :thmbsp:

btw - there is still MORE stuff there :

big set of Maggies, some pro audio stuff, couple more R2R's, and some other goodies . . .
