I need an older dvr that will work with an over the air connection. I do not want a dvr that is subscription based. I need to use it at my cabin during football season so that I can record games or at least pause them while I am away. I guess I would need at least as a min. a 20gig hard drive. Any suggestions??

you can get an htpc. I own an HP z555. It has 3 tuners as well as standard inputs. It can capture HD right off the air. Mine is 2 or 3 years old and works great. Paid 2k when new, I've seen them on ebay used for 600 - 800.
HP has the HTPC thing all figured out....stay away from no name clones.

The Hp sounds nice but, is a bit out of my range. Does anyone know about the panasonics? If I recall, they did not incurr a monthly surcharge.
