Gotta be the new Sony SA-WM500 subwoofer. Just got home from being home and a 6-hour drive. Had to feed the cat and give him plenty of attention, been gone since Thursday.
Think I'll go out and bring it in.
Gonna be FOUR 12-inch, 150-watt subwoofers for the HT. :D

big box, lots of peanuts.
it does woof.
to tell the truth, the 8-inch SA-WM200 seems to give me more bass here with the PC stereo.
I need one more cable, will get it tomorrow at BB.
The big 15-inchers pumped more bass I'm pretty sure. But we'll play some movies and see what the deal is LOL

I'm still listening to them with their volume pretty high.
When I get over the fun of lots of bass, I'll try to dial them in to the rest of the HT system.
It is surprising what programs/ads have low bass in them.
The Yamaha NS-A838 provided bass, but only down to the mid-30s Hz.
Anyway, the HT system has 7 12-inch woofers in the mix.

Picture this. Short wall is at least 12 feet long. In the corners are the subwoofers, the A-Neutronics A-NS12 down-firing boxes on the floor, the Sony SA-WM500 front-firing stacked atop them, then (for the Denon/Carver stereo system) the HPM-900 inverted on top of the pile. Inboard are the Yamaha NS-A838 on 8-inch, slightly tilted up stands, with the JBL L100 stacked atop the Yamahas (the L100 are in the Technics SU-91 stereo system). Sharing the middle are the Pioneer Elite VSX-99, two Kenwood amps, dvdplayer and two VHS Hi-Fi decks, and the 27" Samsung TV on a stand with the NS-A835 on the bottom shelf.
Heck I should take a picture and see if the new camera works etc.

OK, I do need to get to know this new 7 MP camera I got a couple of weeks ago. I do know I need to know how to get the image stabilization working.

All those subs? Do your walls start to vibrate and rattle? My AR's with 15s were more than my room could handle.

Well, I bid on two auctions for these http://www.a-neutronics.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=59&osCsid=60135917d48d73070cccdd1e83238a4f
One didn't work. I remonstrated, politely. The seller was most gracious and helpful, and we tried several things. The other one had a hum that was quite apparent at idle. We tried things for ground loops.
The upshot, he refunded my money and told me to keep the subwoofers.
With nothing to lose, the one that didn't work I decided to pull the plate amp and take a look-see. Right away I saw a loose connection. Ooops, too small for me to get into, and the dang thing was too short, anyway. Still nothing to lose, I put some force into it, and got the amp section out enough to see that TWO other connections were not connected. Those two connected easily enough. The orig connection I noticed was a problem that needed more force. I saw that there was some slack in the speaker enclosure (yeah, I had to pull the woofer--it IS a stout sunuvagun BTW). I had to pull and work on the silicone sealing the hole where the wires went into the amp enclosure from the speaker enclosure. Finally I was able to pull enough of the slack through to get the connection closed. Dang thing started to woof.
OK, now to the present. The one I "fixed" really has a hum, and I need to try a two-prong/3-prong adaptor. It will really woof, though.
Now the problem is with one of the Sony subs I got because I thought I would be sending the A-Neutronics back. It doesn't have much volume, even at full gain. Of course I can't find a TV show or movie on HBO or such right now with cranking bass booms and blasts.
I will say the little 8-inch, 75-watt SA-WM200 Sony is a real bear and puts out some great bass for the PC stereo.
The SA-WM500 don't really impress me.
The A-Neutronics are digital amps, so I don't have clue one how or what to do about their humming. Both hum, but the not-working one i "repaired" hums really loudly *at times*.
Do I just say fug it and bite the bullet for a monster sub or maybe the big Titanic kit from PE?

In MY personal experience, one high-quality sub will outperform multiple inferior subs.:D

With all that gear, seems you should splurge for a bigger screen TV. Prices have really come down. Just a thought. Seems the equipment dwarfs the TV.
