Hey Crime Stoppers...
The name is Bill and I have been around a little less than two years. I really love this place, for me it is truly about the "Music" first. I love the gear but it is really just a means to and end; great music reproduced in a manner that I enjoy....
I am the Executive Chef of one of the "Destination" restaurants here in the Triad region of North Carolina. I love my work even if it kicks my ass sometimes. I am 43 years old and have been married a couple of times & raised three kids.....
Regarding the name "Cableguy"...which has actually nothing to do with cable TV.
When I first arrived here there were numerous pissing contests about the virtues/voodoo of higher ended cables, interconnects, ect. I thought I would be clever and choose this moniker.....turns out it was so clever that the only one who got it was me....:sigh: I have thought about changing it but it has sorta stuck.....
What I love the most about this site is the friendships that I have made while a member. I would not trade them for anything....Jason, Todd, Steve, Rich, Justen & Alan you guys are the best....
As far as gear as gear I have a modest mid-fi system that I really enjoy.

Denon PRA 1000 preamp....I love the phono stage
Mitsubishi DP-EC10 DD turntable....this this is a rock at 28 pounds..
Pioneer Elite DV-38A CD/DVD
Audiosource Amp 7 200 wpc Class T amp
Original Fried Q's
DCM TF 600's
and just added, not sure what to call it...
DIY "Gaincard" amp based upon the 47 labs circuitry...sounds pretty amazing

I own a lot of music....I love Jazz, Blues, most incarnations of Rock and Roll, Classical, and of course Twang....

That's about other it than thank you AK....:thmbsp:

Bill is truly an excellent example of what AK is all about - enthusiasm for the gear, the music, and a willingness to share his knowledge and experience.

:thmbsp:

It doesn't hurt that he's an awesome chef as well... I always try to visit around dinnertime. :smoke:

Wish I lived closer I'd be hanging around for supper with Oz. I've had a sample of your cooking talents a while back and you sir can cook :tresbon:

I would have never thought of that name having something to do with IC cables...lol
I always assumed you installed cable. :D

Interconnectguy would have been cool, though. :)

I for one am glad you are a member.

I lust for more of your pepper sauce, Bill.

The last batch was pumpkin/habanero :yikes: :tears:  (I wish there was a smilie for "MY WHOLE HEAD IS ON FIRE!!!!") :D

Actually, taken in moderation the sauce is delicious. Taken with wild abandon, the sauce will kick your ass. :thmbsp:

Bill has some serious talents in the concocting department.

Great intro and nice to meet you. I grew up sort of in your neck of the woods, about 2 hours north, near Roanoke, VA.

Roanoke is a great city... Been there a couple of times and enjoyed myself on both occasions....
While I am not native to this part of the world I seem to be settling in OK...
Winters are certainly less severe than my life in Wisconsin....

And if you ever get a chance to eat at Bill's "destination restuarant" you will not be disappointed! Fine food...

Of course he will long be remembered for the amazing Italian Sausage that he brought to the first Redneck, err, I mean Frog, Fest.

And a fine guy to boot!!
