Well this worked out pretty good to get to (re)introduce myself on my 1000th post! I think that's in a years time, too. What is that, 2.6 posts per day? Not too bad I guess.

My basic "low down" is that I'm 40 (41 in October), grew up in Arkansas and graduated H.S. in 1985 and attended college at Colorado State in Ft Collins, CO where my dad and stepmother lived at the time. I've always been involved in electronics in some fashion pretty much all my life. It all started with my first real job at 13 working for the local Western Auto where I was pretty much the jack of all trades. I assembled everything from baby beds to lawn mowers to building displays and tinkering with car stereo. Back then, the top dog stuff was Kraco, Sparkomatic and Jensen and 8-track was seeing it's final days (this was 1979 I believe). Throughout H.S. I was always the one that put stereos in for my friends or fixed their stuff so it was almost natural when a store opened up in my hometown, I hung out there a lot until I was hired.

Well one thing led to another and I spent about 18 years in retail Home and Car A/V either in management or ownership. I lived in Tulsa, OK for 13 years (1990 to 2003) which I really liked a lot. I'll eventually move back there as I'm not really thrilled where I am at now for my traveling territory. Oh, I guess I should mention that since 2001, I am a multi-line electronics Rep for some really great companies involving car audio, home A/V, integration, automation, etc. Of course, my HT system isn't nearly as cool as the stuff I sell...but when is it ever. I enjoy the traveling to the trade shows, my territory and being able to see different parts of the U.S. and the world when it allows.

I've been divorced since about 2003 (right before I moved) and was engaged up till about 3 months ago. She decided just wasn't ready after 2.5 years together. Oh well. I have no kids of my own except for my ex-wife's 2 great kids which I still consider my own as they were young when she and I married. So, audio is my hobby and A/V is my business. I'm a 2-channel fan and enjoy finding things out there at yard sales, thrift stores, etc either in my area or when I'm traveling. I grew up listening to 70's and 80's Rock & Roll but am very eclectic in what I listen to now. Still, not a major country fan but will tolerate it. (funny since my half brother works for Curb Records in Nashville) My grandfather, dad, brother and myself all play guitar and have all played in bands at one point and time in our lives. It's nice to have that bonding between all of us even though my grandfather passed away back in 1997.

Thanks for a great site where you are accepted amongst your peers and treated pretty much the same. It's a fun hobby we are all in with the quest for musical enjoyment and helping our fellow man/woman out with our past time. Thanks for everyone's help for the odd questions I've asked because, admittedly, I don't know everything and I'm glad I don't! I'd rather learn. I hope I've contributed to this forum in even a minuscule amount in comparison to you guys that have been here a long time.
