Hi, fellow audio nuts!
My name is Ken, from Memphis, TN. I am a manager for a local paint manufacturer. I have been in the paint and high-performance coatings industry for over 23 years.
I have one son, Chris, who is a rising sophomore at Clemson University.
I was raised in the upstate area of South Carolina, attending Mauldin HS and then earning my BA in English Lit and Language from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC.
My journey into audio started around the age of 11, when Santa brought me my first electric guitar and amp. Having played in several bands, and recording some light studio work, I eventually migrated into the sound end of things, mixing sound for bands, and served as the lighting and sound director for the Wofford College Theater Workshop during my last year there. I still play guitar occasionally, but not as much as I know I should.
The audio bug really bit me hard about 8 years ago, when I rescued a set of original Advents from a local pawn shop. Around two and a half years ago, I found AK, looking for info on my latest find, a Kenwood KT-8005. I was warmly welcomed, unlike other boards which were cold and impersonal. AK has now become my second home.
A certified speaker freak, I now have around 16 pairs of good vintage speakers, and a myriad of electronics. The multitude of information here, along with the friendly folks, makes this place the best audio board on the web.
As far as my systems go (they are constantly morphing):
Main:
Sunfire 300
Adcom GFP-750
Musical Fidelity X-10v3
Paradigm X-30
Sony DVP-NS500V

I had the pleasure to meet many AKers at last years Southern Audio Fest in Atlanta. I have a good feeling we will have a much larger crowd this year.
It's all about the music here, and I am active on the music and speaker boards.
Many thanks go out to the wonderful members of AK, whose words and wit keep me sane.
Regards,
Ken
